The Seaforth goalie managed to stop this one, but the Brussels PeeWee Houseleague got
quite a few others by him to take this sudden death game played in Brussels on March 13
by a score of 9-4 . The Brussels squad has now begun the finals against Hensall, and are
down by one game in that series. They play this Thursday.

Bulls' affiliation shows
positive, exciting results
The Brussels Atoms House
league team had a very busy week
as they finished round robin play,
began a best-of-five playoff series
and took part in a weekend tourna-
ment.
The squad finished their round
robin series with a resounding vic-
tory over Elma-Logan, March 12.
Starting off slowly in the first,
with only one goal scored by Joel
Hemingway and assisted by Tyler
Campbell, the team burst into
action in the second.
Less than four minutes into the
frame, Campbell pumped in one of
his own, then assisted on a Sean
Hoegy goal just over a minute later.
Before half the period had
expired, Brussels had taken a 5-0
lead on goals by Jeff Linton and
Kyle Stephenson.
Hemingway and Hoegy added
two more before the buzzer, allow-
ing the home squad to go into the
third up 7-0.
Other assists in the second came
from Daniel Cameron (three),
Hemingway, Hoegy, Campbell,
Stephenson and Linton.
If the team ever let their guard
down it was only for the first 30
seconds of the third as Elma-Logan
was finally able to score on Brook-
lyn Wheeler.
The team quickly rallied, blasting

regulation time, the teams played

overtime still scoreless. Lucknow
was given the win on the tie-
breaker shots on net rule,
outshooting Blyth nine shots to five
shots.
Again Wilson was solid in the
Blyth net. Pointgetters in the
tournament were: goals - Drew
Corneil, three; Derek Cook, two;
Darrell McDougall; Dave Ansley;
Matt Anderson and Joel Arthur;
assists - Anderson, five; Tyler
Stewart, four; Comeil, three; Cook,

After a less than successful on
ice season for the Bulls this year,
the persistence and dedication of
the organization is showing some
positive results.
Last week the three-year-old
debt, that the club has been
carrying was paid off. The Bulls
are grateful to the individuals for
their understanding and extreme
patience during the time they had
their money at risk to keep the team
going. The financial situation for
the Bulls has greatly improved this
year to the point where there will
be a good reserve to start next
season.
The affiliation that was started at
the beginning of this season with
the Kitchener Dutchmen Jr. B is
showing some very positive and
exciting developments for next
season. In conversations with
Dutchmen's coach Terry McCut-
cheon and their management, the
potential for the affiliation to

considerably improve both teams
has been discussed. A meeting is
scheduled for later in the spring to
plan out all the aspects of how the
two organizations can benefit each
other.
There has been good interest
from a number of local players,
who are capable of playing with the
Bulls, in playing next season. Also
there are many younger players
who will be capable of playing Jr.
C in the future.
After pointing out a couple of the
positives for the upcoming season,
one of the priorities that has to be
addressed for next season is the
shrinking executive. The executive
has become too small to carry out
all the responsibilities necessary to
maintain the team. The Bulls need
at least six to 10 new interested
people to strengthen the executive
to lighten the load for all. If new
people do not come forward it is

Campbell score a hattrick in the
period, bringing his game total to
five.
HemingWay followed with two in
the third, three on the game.
Adding to their personal totals
were Matthew Clarkson, Hoegy
and Stephenson.
Though many of the period, net-
ters were solo efforts, assists were
earned by Jimmy Franken, Camp-
bell, Cameron and Stephenson.
The squad then advanced to the
playoffs against Stephen Twp.,
March 15.
Stephen had the home ice advan-
tage as they took a 2-0 lead through
the second. Brussels got on the
board half way through the third
with a goal by Hemingway, assist-
ed by Robbie McClure. The squad
could not battle back, taking a 5-1
loss in the first game of the series.
The second game will be played
Wednesday, March 20, in Brussels
at 7:30 p.m. and the third will move
to Stephen Twp. on Friday night.
Brussels also participated in the
Mildmay tournament on the week-
end.
Brussels met Port Elgin in the
first matchup, topping their oppo-
nent 5-0, with Hoegy earning the
shutout.
Stephenson led off the scoring at
5:40 of the first, assisted by Camp-
bell.
Campbell and Stephenson each
popped in another before the frame
ended, staking their team to a 3-0
lead. Linton assisted on the Camp-
bell goal.
Rounding out the scoring were
Campbell, assisted by Devon Blake
in the second and Stephenson,
assisted by Campbell, in the third.
Campbell was chosen player of
the game.
Though the team put out a great
effort, they were unable to beat the
Walkerton goaltender in their sec-
ond game, taking a 1-0 loss.
Hoegy was selected player of the
game.
