PeeWees down Seaforth in 3
The Brussels Bantams were
eliminated in two games from their
group semi-final series against
Elma-Logan bringing their 1995-96
season to an end.
Tuesday night the Bantams were
unable to hold a 4-1 lead after two
periods and lost 7-5 in Monkton.
Joel Kellington with two, Jeremy
Clark, Kevin Mutter and Jason
Kellington scored for Brussels
while Mike Golightly (three),
Darryl Johnston (two), Andy Fuhr
and Jim Krauskopf with an empty
netter scored for Elma-Logan.
Wednesday in Brussels the
Bantams were eliminated with a

league final against Ripley.
Ron Strome opened the Crusader
scoring late in the first with J.C.
Hewitt adding powerplay goals in
the second and third. Corey McKee
assisted on all three goals while
Phil Livermore set up two. Pat
Cronin stopped 26 shots for the
shutout.
Game one in the best of seven
series is Friday night in Ripely at
8:20 with game two scheduled for
Brussels Saturday at 7:30.
Ripley finished the regular
season in first place, three points
ahead of Brussels. The Wolves
boost the league's highest scoring
offence led by scoring champion
Sean Burton, while the Crusaders
defence was the best in the league
anchored, by the goaltending of
12-1 loss. Mike Cooper scored the
Brussels goal while Philip Jarmuth
(four), Johnston (two), Golightly
(two), Craig Smith, Mike Jarmuth,
Krauskopf, and Tyler Bleck scored
for the visitors.
Elma-Logan now advances to the
group final against Wingham.
Good luck to Cory Bragg, Jason
Kellington, Jeremy Clark, Clint
Fischer and Matthew Shortreed,
who graduate into the midget ranks
next season. Also thanks to the
affiliated players, especially Joel
Kellington, Chad Fischer and Matt
McCall, who played on a regular

The Crusaders and Wolves met
four times in regular schedule play
The Blyth PeeWees Reps
advanced to the WOAA group
finals by eliminating Seaforth in
three straight games.
Blyth dominated the first two
games but Seaforth put up a
tougher fight in their home building
in game three. Blyth broke a 3-3 tie
with four minutes to go to the
second period, then added a power-
play goal with 2 seconds left in the
period to take a 5-3 lead into the
third.
The boys played a tight-checking
third period and clinched the final
game 7-4.
Dean Wilson provided strong
goaltending for Blyth with the
goals being scored by Darrell
McDougall,.Matt Anderson, Derek
Cook, Tyler Stewart, Joel Arthur,
Dave Ansley and Jeremy Van
Amersfoort. Assists went to Drew
Corneil, three, Anderson, Van
Amersfoort and Ansley, two.
The PeeWees competed in the
Goderich Lions Young Canada
Tournament during March break.
Unable to play in their "D"
division, Blyth moved up and
played in "C". They opened the
tourney against Forest and were
with three of the four games
decided by one goal and the fourth
game ending in a tic.
deadlocked in a 1-1 tie until Forest
scored with two minutes left in the
game. Forest added another goal
and then scored in the empty net to
seal a 4-1 win.
Blyth then met Arthur. Again,
this was another tight game with
Blyth leading 3-2 at the end of
second period.
The boys picked up the pace in
the third, scoring three unanswered
goals and winning 6-2.
In the third game Blyth faced-off
with Lucknow. This game turned
out to be tied 2-2 at the end of
