The motto was "Today's Moments
are Tomorrow's Memories," saying
friends and relatives are the major
source of memories and not to
forget them even if it's just a phone
call. Auctions can bring back
memories because you often see an
item which you grew up with or
can relate to someone you know.
Members were asked to complete
their family tree, life history and to
have a picture included for the
members' book.
Lunch was served with the
committee using older recipes to
relate to the meeting. Following
this, Jean Fraser did a demonstra-
tion on making a flower candle.
The next meeting will be held on
April 10 at 12:30 with a potluck
lunch at the library.

Town crier, symbol
for Homecoming 97
A town crier will be 'calling
everyone home to Brussels Home-
coming 97".
The reunion committee selected a
logo and theme at a meeting last
Thursday evening at the Brussels
Legion. Submitted by Kendra
Cardiff, the logo depicts a town
crier with a banner containing the
theme phrase. Chairperson Murray
Cardiff says, "We are really
pleased to have finally decided on a
theme. Now it feels as if we can
proceed with the rest of the plans in
earnest."
Cardiff says there is a tentative
plan for a competition to be held
early next year for the position of
town crier.
