Sanderson, Lauren Snell, Andrea Sturzenegger, Kaitlyn Toll, Megan Blyth PS Gazette By Dianne Mason On Thursday, Feb. 29 the Grade 7/8s went skiing at Talisman. The lift tickets and ski rentals were paid by the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. We left the school at 7 a.m. to head for Talisman and we arrived at the ski resort shortly after 9. When we got there the instructor told us what to do and then we had to go into the lounge and then we had to go down to get our ski rentals. Then we were off to have our lesson. There were seven different kinds of hills you can ski on and one you are not allowed on because it is for the snow boarders. We all ate lunch at 12 and then some of us were off for another lesson, if you didn't pass in the morning. Once you did, you would be able to go on the very big hills that have the chair lifts. Here are some names of the hills: the Jai bar, Tee bar, the Quad and Jacob's Ladder. We all had to take our ski rentals back at 3:30 and we left at 4 p.m. We arrived home around 6 p.m. We all had a lot of fun and we would like to go again. Thank you very much to the Legion Ladies Auxiliary for making this day possible for us. MRS. She has now been teaching for 22 years, taking several years off to raise her family. Sewing, music and spoiling her grandchild are the things she likes to do most. Some of her duties at the school are: assessing, testing and tutoring students who are in need of extra help, acting as Students' Council Advisor, looking after the Peacemaker program and teaching music and math.
