Resident enjoys sunny Dominican Republic
Ashley Irwin of Ashfield Twp,
spent last weekend at her
grandmother's Betty Irwin.
Gord Rinn returned home after
spending a week in the Dominican
Republic and enjoyed warm, sunny
days.
Holly Pfeiffer celebrated her 13th
birthday on Friday, Feb. 16.
Attending her party were some of
her classmates: Tania Pletch, Peggy
Procter, Jessica Lockridge,
Courtney McGee, Justin Campbell,
Jason Fear, Curtis Knight," Kevin
Hopf, Jennie Hopf, Trevor Hopf,

The youths bad an enjoyable

the Women's Institute Hall.

There were 12 tables of shoot in
Members of Knox United
Church, Belgrave were welcomed
by Mary Hunter, as they gathered
for the worship service on Sunday,
Feb. 24.
Guest speaker was Elly Vanber-
gen of Exeter, who opened the
service with two requested hymns
for song time, Call to Worship,
Prayer of Approach and Prayer of
Confession.
For the children's time,
VanBergen told about Lent, of
which this was the first Sunday. It
is a season for change and the
colour of the bulletins were purple.
She had several pictures to
illustrate her theme.

John and Kay Roberts recently
returned from a trip to Florida,
where they stayed in Clearwater
and Orlando. They found the
travelling conditions quite hazar-
dous when they drove south, seeing
approximately 200 vehicles which

highways, mainly due to a lack of
road maintenance equipment.
Fortunately, when they reached
their destination they had very
pleasant weather which continued
for the rest of their visit.

play at the Belgrave Community
Centre on Friday, Feb. 23.

Fourteen rinks competed in the
annual Belgrave Mixed Bonspiel
held at the Wingham Golf and
Curling Club recently.
Taking first place honours in the
9 a.m. draw was the foursome of
skip Debbie Hopper, third Karen
Moffatt, Judy McLean and Carol
Hopper.
First place in the 11 a.m. draw
went to the rink of skip, Fred
Meier, third, Linda Meier, second,
Murray McNichol and lead Colleen
McNichol.

was joined by some of his
classmates to celebrate his 14th
birthday.
Steve Stevenson and friend,
Sonja, from Sault Spring Island,
B.C. have been visiting with Scott
and Andrea Stevenson of Auburn.
They attended the wedding of Alex
and Marilyn Scott on Friday, Feb.
23 and welcomed a new nephew,
Spencer Gordon Stevenson (born to
Scott and Andrea) on Saturday,
Feb. 24 at Alexandra and Marine
Hospital, Goderich.
John, Linda, Jeremy and Justin
Campbell spent last weekend at
Grand Bend. Jason Fear, Justin's
friend, accompanied them. They
enjoyed spring-like weather.
Visiting over the weekend at the
home of Mrs. Elizabeth Procter
were Mrs. Philip Stopforth and
Alexandria of Oakville. On
Sunday, Feb. 25 Mrs. Elizabeth
Procter was taken out for a surprise
birthday dinner. Present at the long
table were Mr. and Mrs. Frank

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mayberry,
Marilyn and Darryl of Londesboro;
Mrs. Philip Stopforth and

Everyone enjoyed a lovely dinner
and fellowship as they celebrated
Elizabeth Procter's birthday.
It was also Robbie Hill's birthday
the same day. Marilyn and Darryl
Mayberry had just returned home
the night before having been in
California visiting with Kimberly
Mayberry, who is taking courses
there.
