NOG 1E0 (519) 357-2880 Seniors dine in Brussels Community Dining for Seniors held its Feb. 8 meeting at the Brussels United Church with 20 diners present. Brent Lovelace, who was cook for the meal, was ably helped by two student volunteers, Matthew and Nathan. The program was conducted by Tara Ferguson, co-ordinator, and consisted of a contest on "How Well Do You Know Huron County?" It was quite evident many need a refresher course, however, several present were very knowledgeable correctly answering 20 of the 24 questions. Several humorous readings were given, including a letter from a mother to her son and two about the perils of becoming a senior. Contest winners were Charlotte Davidson and Ruth Sauve. Door prize winners were Jack McCutcheon and Eleanor Hemingway. The 50/50 draw was won by Sandra Clark. Members were asked to bring a Valentine thought, verse or a story on how they met their husband or wife, to the next meeting. Blyth UCW plans for women's day Ladies, remember that "Day Out" that you had (or heard about) last Spring - a day when you were pampered, fed, and entertained - a day away from all your cares, chores, and responsibilities? Well, by popular demand, that same opportunity is coming again. On Saturday, Apr. 27 all women in the area are invited to come to Blyth to the Blyth Memorial Hall for a well deserved "Women's Day Out". The same group of ladies from Blyth United Church has pulled out last year's agenda, and after changing, updating and improving, have come up with another exciting "Women's Day Out". This year's "Day Out" will follow through on the theme of "A Walk in the Park". All aspects of walking in the park will be touched on, including fitness, beauty, wearing apparel and a picnic. The walk begins at 9 a.m. with registration, coffee, juice and muffins, a chance to visit with your friends and wander through the park to the "ladies' Lucky Loonie Sale" in the park bandshell (which is actually the stage in the dining hall). The morning program begins at 9:30 a.m. sharp in the upstairs of Blyth Memorial Hall. Demon- strations will provide you with all you need to know to equip you for a better, healthier "Walk in the Park". A two-hour noon time break will give you lots of time for a delicious "Picnic in the Park" (dining hall), and a leisurely stroll by the "Park Vendors" at the Craft Fair in the Bainton Art Gallery. Here you'll see and have opportunity to buy from a variety of crafters' very fine items. In the afternoon, a fashion show will be presented by Bainton's Old Mill, the New Old Mill and Dressing Room Only. Added to the fashions this year will be Webster's Clothing Store featuring ladies' and children's clothes and Lauretta's Hug & 1/2 from Wingham showing what's available in larger size clothing. Advance tickets only will be available in March. Watch this newspaper for more information. Rebekahs Continued from page 2 members will purchase one. The Brussels Homecoming meeting will beheld on Thursday, Feb. 22. A representative will attend this meeting. A casserole euchre will be held on Monday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. Brother Bill Young, DDGM, mentioned the speaking contest to be held in Clinton, March 1. The Degree of Chivalry will be held in the arena on April 13. The district church service will be held in Blyth United Church on Sunday, May 1 at 11 a.m. There being no further business, Lodge closed followed by a social time.
