The Belgrave Atoms played
recently in two close games, to end
their regular season with a win and
a tie.
On Feb. 8, they skated to a 4-3
victory over Stephen Twp. Goals
were scored by Trevor Koehler
(two), Matt Rochetta and Kyle Zurich scored first, at 14:16 of the

Brussels Tykes beat Zurich 7-3 in
a recent contest. Scoring for
Brussels was Mathew White with

two goals, Cory Chapman and
Christopher Jutzi with one each.

Recreation Board learned at its
Feb. 14 meeting that insurance pre-
miums for the year would rise.
Doug Sholdice from Cardiff and
Mulvey Insurance reviewed the
1996 package with the board. He
advised that due to large liability
claims over the past year the premi-
um is increasing by eight per cent.

Brussels Homecoming Committee
was present to discuss develop-
ments in the preparations for the
event to be held in 1997. He pre-
sented a tentative agenda and
extended an invitation for the board
to attend the committee's Feb. 22
meeting.
Board member Gary Pipe said he
would attend on the board's behalf.

Mary Stretton, Mary Bernard and
Alvin McLellan were appointed to
the pool committee for the upcom-
ing year.
Middegaal Pools will be retained
for pool maintenance and chemi-
cals.

A report on the Valentine's
Dance was presented. The profit
was $1,176.78, with one further
invoice estimated at $100 still out-
standing.
Proceeds were part of an effort
by the board to raise funds for a
french fryer for the arena booth.
Last week, the Blyth Bantams
stole two WOAA playoff games
from Tiverton.
On Monday, the won by an 8-0
score. Mike Haggitt led the attack,
with a hattrick and two assists.
Additional scores were tallied by
Darryl Bromley (two), Drew
Corneil (two) and Dave Ansley.
Additional assists were awarded to
Jeff Cowan (three), Comeil (two),
Ansley (two), Mike Courtney
(two), Mike Ansley (two), Chris
Carter and Darryl Postma. Scott

The BelgraVe Tykes won two
very lopsided games last week.
On Wednesday, they defeated
Monkton by a 10-0 score. Jeremy
Robinson led the offensive effort
with five goals. Additional goals
were scored by Kyle Nixon (two),
Scott Phillips, Trevor McArter and
Christopher Campbell.
On Saturday the strong offense
continued, this time handing
Lucknow an 8-0 defeat. Robinson
scored seven of the eight goals,
with Phillips adding a single.

ended its season last week with two
playoff losses to Drayton.
On Friday, they were defeated by
a 4-2 score. Joel Kellington and
Chris Blake scored for Brussels,
with assists going to Jason
Armstrong and Brian Oldfield.
On Saturday, they were elimi-
nated from playoff competition
with a lopsided 8-0 loss.
Blyth Tykes lose
The Blyth Tykes lost a hard-
fought 5-1 game to Bayfield last
Saturday. Josh Albrechtas scored
the goal for Blyth.
Coach Rich Elliott, said, "Having
lost 16-0 to Bayfield before, the
team showed a marked improve-
ment." He complimented goal-
tender Darcey Cook for a solid
effort.
