Last Tuesday, the Walton school
students had a great time skating at
the Seaforth Arena. On Wednesday
each class had a Valentine's party.
The kindergarten class made
individual jellos for their party and
did fingerpainting using their
thumbprints to make hearts. They
were also quite excited to receive
letters from their penpals from
Turnberry Central School.
The Grade 2s made a love quilt
with pictures of things that made
them feel good. It seems that food
was the main source for creating
happy feelings. They put their
desks into a heart shape to really
get into the Valentine spirit. Then
each child was given half of a
heart. When they found the person
with the matching half that was
their partner for the day's activities.
They played pin the heart on Cupid
and Cupid Bingo.
The Grade 3s did a bit of desk
cleaning this week and found quite
a few items that had been missing
for a while. Friday was also pay
day. Mrs. Griffiths was the bank
manager and she had six student
tellers to train. This is a first for the
class because usually only adults
have the teller jobs.
The Valentine's dance at the
Walton Hall was a great success
with people coming from Grand
Bend, Staffa and surrounding area
to dance to 'Home Made Jam'. The
band consisted of Karl MacNaugh-
ton, his brother Paul and their
mother, Noreen MacNaughton, Mr.
and Mrs. DeLong from St. Marys
and Jim Swan also from St. Marys,
who helped out with the singing.
Howard and Audrey Hackwell
were greeters at Duff's United
Church on Feb. 18.
The morning started off with a
delicious pancake breakfast with all
the trimmings. Mark Wilbee lit the
Christ Candle and Rev. Randy
Banks delivered the Call to Wor-
ship. A flower arrangement and a
plant were placed in the church
Door prize winners were Verna
Rathwell, Audrey Adair and Gerald
Ryan.
Visiting with John Huether this
week are Mr. and Mrs. Webster
from Big Valley, Alberta.
A good number of Walton area
farmers attended the Farm
Implement Show in Louisville,
Kentucky this past week.
from the family of the late Ross
Brighton and from the Hoegy
family in memory of Clifford
Hoegy.
Rev. Banks announced that next
Sunday, the first Sunday in Lent,
communion will be served in the
pews.
If there are any teens interested
in taking confirmation classes
