1996 Dog tags are now available at the Municipal office and
must be purchased by February 29, 1996.
The fee schedule shall be as follows:
a) If the dog Is a male or a spayed female, a fee of $12.00
b) if the dog is a female, a fee of $14.00
c) for a second female, a fee of $19.00
d) for a second male, or spayed female $14.00
e) for a pit bull, or a pit bull cross, a fee of $100.00
A late fee of $15.00 will be applied on March 1, 1996.
PROOF OF RABIES VACCINATION MUST BE SHOWN

Early sales
Members of the Brussels Guiding movement visited Huronlea last week to begin their

Majestic quilts for Ark
President Ruth Sauve led the
Majestic Women's Institute
members with the Centennial song
as it opened its meeting on Feb. 14.
She followed this with a poem on
February.
Roll call was answered with
naming a local industry and telling
what it produces.
Business included deciding to put
the Centennial rose at the little
church on Mill Street where
everyone could enjoy it. Also, the
ACWW church service which will
be held on April 28 at the Brussels
United Church.
A quilt is being quilted at Ruth
Sauve's for the Ark.
The W.I. will apply to get a
Citizen Court to be held in
Brussels.
The committee for the birthday
party at Huronlea on April 9 will
consist of Alice Brothers, Dorothy
Steffler and Ruth Sauve.
Correspondence of a booklet on
"A Century of Fashion" was
received to be used for the Feb. 19
meeting when the Women's
Institute will be 100 years old.
Letters were received from the
Mennonite Church giving
permission to hold the District
Annual there on May 14.
A new picture of the Queen and
her husband has been purchased
and framed, replacing the old one.
This will be paid for by the
Majestic Branch.
Convenors Dorothy Steffler and
Rebekahs
meet
Morning Star Rebekah Lodge
held its meeting on Tuesday, Feb.
13 with a good attendance. Noble
Grand Betty Cardiff presided.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and approved, followed
by the roll call of officers.
Sister Laura Barbour gave the
Sunshine report. She noted that
Reta Hoover was a patient in the
hospital. Members wish for her a
speedy recovery.
The new constitution and bylaws
have arrived and it is hoped that all

Jean Bell did a skit which included
a poem on Valentine that continued
by giving information on linoleum
and carpet buying and care of the
product once it is in your home.
They also had carpet samples to
show quality and the latest of
colours.
Dorothy Steffler gave the motto,
"In every rank, both great and
small, industries arid farms support
them all."
Ruby Steiss gave the "Smiles"
which kept the members chuckling.

The Evening Unit of UCW of
Brussels United Church met in the
Sunday School room on Feb. 7 with
15 women and visitors present.
Barbara Barton McMillan,
president, opened the meeting with
information regarding what is left
from a welfare cheque after the rent
is paid. Bev May from Harriston
will speak at the March meeting
about the food bank.
Hymn Like a Shepherd Lead Us
was sung with accompaniment at
the piano by Betty Campbell.
Minutes of the last meeting and
treasurer's report were given by
Galbraith and Kate Wilson.
Anyone wishing to take the
courses on needle tatting and ribbon
embroidery that also includes either
a gardening demonstration or Herbs
for Health should contact Jean
Fraser or Kathy Bridge for form
regisuations. The courses are being
held in Atwood on March 25, St.
Paul's on March 26 and Clinton on
April 1. Deadline to register is
March 15.
A beautiful lunch was served by
Melody White, Edna Pletch and
Yvonne Knight. The next meeting
will be held on March 13 at 2 p.m.
in the Brussels Library.

An invitation will be sent to other
churches, Walton and Ethel for
Thankoffering on April 3 with
Muriel Coultes as speaker.

Life membership is the project
for spring and on March 20 there
will be a hot luncheon at the church.
Lunch was served and Mrs.
Campbell closed the meeting with
prayer.
