eliminated Howick from layoff
competition, with a convincing 8-1
victory last Wednesday.
Brussels goals were scored by
Joel Kellington (two), Chris Blake,
Brian Oldfield, Andy Van Beek,
Phil Affolter and Stephen Todd.
Assists were awarded to Oldfield
(two), Kellington, Van Beek,
Blake, Matt McLellan and Marc
Fischer.

The Brussels PeeWee House-
league team defeated Seaforth by a
convincing 6-1 score on Saturday.
Brian Oldfield led the Brussels
squad, with one goal and two
assists. Additional goals were
scored by Stephen Todd (two),
Carla Hunt, Matt Cameron and
Jason Armstrong. Armstrong, Hunt
and Van Beek picked up extra
assists.
Coach Steve Coulter said the
team played their best game of the
year and seem ready for the
upcoming playoffs.
Blyth Atom pair
score 5 goals
The Blyth Atoms played an
exhibition game against Hensall
last Saturday, and came away with
a 5-3 victory.
Cole Stewart and Robbie
Archambault shared the goal
scoring, with three goals going to
Stewart and two to Archambault.
Stewart scored all three of his goals
in the third period.
Assists were awarded to Andrew
Toll (two), Brad Schmidt and
Shaun Henry. Coach Tom Jarrett
said the team played well, but still
need to work on their passing
game.
Overloads
host tourney
The Radford Overloads hockey
club of Blyth hosted their sixth
annual Oldtimers Tournament this
past February 3.
Six teams took part in the one-
day event providing some spills
and thrills as they battled for
supremacy from the drop of the
first puck until the final buzzer.
The teams taking part in the
tournament were: Kincardine
Bulishooters, Wingham Rockers,

Kellington led the offense, with a
goal and two assists. Additional
goals were scored by Van Beek,
Blake and Chad Fischer. Affo lter
and Matt Cameron picked up
additional assists.
Coach Kellington said, "The
team played hard but just came up
short. The winning goal was scored
with just over two minutes left in
the game."
The second game will be played
this Friday in Brussels at 8:45 p.m.
The game was tied 1-1 at the end
of the first and Kincardine took a 4-
3 lead into the third.
The final Bulldog goal went into
an empty net as the Bulls tried to
pull even.
Scoring for the Bulls were Aaron
Barrie, Brian McNichol, Cory
Bragg and Darin Alviano.

Drayton again capitalized early

Kellington brought the Bantams to
within one but three in the third

The Bantams completed their
regular schedule at 5 wins - 12
losses following a 3-1 defeat to
Milverton. Kevin Mutter scored the
only Brussels goal midway through
the third.
The Bantams travelled to
Wingham last night for an
exhibition game, then await for
group playoffs to begin.

Blyth Novices
lose close one
It appeared to be anyone's game
when the Blyth Novices played
host to the Mitchell squad in a con-
test on Feb. 8.
Unfortunately, the end-to-end
play was in the Blyth zone one too
many times as the hosts came out
on the losing end of a 1-0 effort.
Justin Peters did the job in net for
Blyth.
The Novices began their playoff
schedule Tuesday against Teeswa-
ter.
