Duff's worship in Bluevale Shannon McGavin enjoyed spending the day with the Grade 1 class when she substituted for Mrs. Bennett. The children have their woven envelopes all ready to start receiving valentines. On Friday they worked on V is for valentines and they had to come up with 'V' words. Mrs. McGavin was quite impressed with their words — venom, veins, violets, Venus, violin to name a few. The Kindergartens have been busy as well preparing for next week's fun. With their Grade 4 buddies they made valentine holders. They are also working on 'Things The Walton UCW met last week for its monthly meeting. Berva Watson was chairperson and Phyllis Mitchell led the devotionals. The roll call was 'Valentine'Memories'. Doreen Hackwell was in charge of the topic Grey Township Council received their 1995 financial statements at its regular meeting on Feb. 5. Township auditor Mike Meyer said, Grey ended the year with an accumulated net surplus of $36,131 compared to $79,467 in 1994. Council approved the budget for the Walton Landfill committee which projects a deficit of $44,750 for 1996. The Walton Landfill Site is shared with McKillop Twp. Council also noted that the Committee has extended the winter schedule of the landfill site to include November and April. Effective November 1996, the landfill site will be open on the first and third Monday only. Gary Boyer and Evon Cochrane, on behalf of the Ethel Minor Ball I Love' books. In Mrs. Vivian's Grade 2 class they celebrated 100 day on Thurs- day. The children have been in school 100 days and they brought in various collections of 100 things such as: buttons, kidney beans, elastics, pennies. They also made a book about it, "On 100 Day What Did I See?" The Grade 2 and 3 combined to make a friendship club on Fridays. They break off into pairs and teach each other board and card games. They trade buddies each week. They are doing this for the month of February. The school welcomes Joshua and Jesse Brooks from Kitchener. and she gave a general outline of how Valentine's Day came about. The World Day of Prayer will be on March 1 at Brussels United Church at 7:30 p.m. The next beef luncheon and card day will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Duff s United Church. Committee made a presentation to council with a proposal to build a washroom/pavilion/booth facility at the Ethel Park. The estimated cost of the facility is $25,000._Council indicated that the Township will pay 50 per cent of the costs with the Minor Ball Committee pro- viding the balance of the funding. The committee hopes to have the facility built in time for its annual co-ed tournament in June as well as the Township's 140th anniversary celebration. In other business, Council approved for payment general accounts of $45,256.38, drain accounts of $1,450.18 and road accounts of $29,369.83. The next regular meeting of Council is scheduled for Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m. Worshippers from Walton joined with Bluevale folk at their church for a joint service and lunch followed by a meeting. Rev. Randy Banks welcomed everyone and after leading the Call to Worship announced that Feb. 14 will be the official board meeting at Walton. There will be a pancake breakfast next Sunday from 8:30 - 9:30 at Duffs. Also there will be a free 90 minute workshop for small church choirs by Ron Klusmeier, Feb. 19 from 7:30 to 9:00 at Main St. United Church in Mitchell. Rev.
