Tykes top Wingham
The Brussels Tykes played an
excellent game against Wingham
recently, considering how cold the
temperature was on the ice surface,
minus 20 at least.
Scoring for Brussels was Chris
Corbett, Adam Corbett, and Justin
Thompson. Assisting for the
Brussels team was Christopher
Jutzi, and Mitch Blake. In net for
Brussels was Kyle Gibson, who
made some game saving stops just
like a pro.
The Brussels Atom Rep team
took a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five
WOAA series against Drayton with
a 6-2 victory on Saturday.
Kyle Stephenson led the attack
with two goals and two assists.
Also having a strong game in the
5-4 victory was Chas Chapman,
Cory Chapman, Nathon Prior, and
Mathew White who was injured
with a stick across the right arm,
but continued to play. Half way
through the game, however, he had
to leave. Mathew showed great
determination in playing as long as
he could.
The next game is in Bayficld on
Saturday, Fcb. 10 at 12:45.
Additional goals were scored by
Darrell McClure (two) and Lee
Dilworth (two). Further assists
were credited to Nolan Krotz (two)
and Mark Hunter.
Coach Alan Krotz credited his
team for their solid effort.

Wescast PeeWees record 13-6-0
The Wingham Wescast PeeWee
Bs improved their league record to
a 13-6-0 with a pair of lopsided
victories over weaker Hanover and
Mildmay teams.
The PeeWee Bs travelled to
Mildmay Jan. 23 and although
Wingham expected tough competi-
tion they skated away with a 7-1
decision.
Brett Coulthard collected the
hattrick, scoring his first in the
opening period, unassisted. His
second came in the second period
on a nice pass from Garrett Skinn.
A good crowd showed up at
Cranbrook Community Hall, Jan.
31, to make plans for the upcoming
Grey Township 140th anniversary.
"At this point, the date has been
set, a chair chosen and the commit-
tees tentatively selected," says Brad
Knight, who is helping organize the
celebration.
Chair of the organization is Bob
Cunningham.

ditch machine
Two people escaped serious
injury after being involved in a
snowmobile accident in Morris
Twp. this past weekend.
According to a report from the
Wingham OPP, the accident
occurred at 12:10 a.m., on Lot 20,
Conc. 9. A 1991 Arctic Cat snow-
mobile, driven by Cara Salo, 27 of
Hamilton, was crossing a field
when it hit the ditch. Salo and her
passenger, Laurie Hayes, 28 of
Kenilworth were thrown from the
machine.
The two were taken to Wingham
Hospital by ambulance where they
were treated for minor injuries.
The snowmobile was demol-
ished.
Then Tom Mullin scored two in a
row, one from Justin Campbell.
Mildmay finally beat James
Needham in the second period after
he made a couple of point blank
saves. Aaron Himmelman and
Coulthard scored again before
Craig Marks put the game away in
the third period.
The PeeWee Bs took on Hanover
at the Wingham arena on Jan. 21,
and in the opening 15 minutes of
the game averaged a goal every two
minutes to open up an 8-0 advant-
