The Blyth Juveniles began their
best-of-seven OMHA semi-final
with Cayuga last week, but were
unable to salvage any victories.
On Saturday, they travelled to
Cayuga for what turned out to be a
very rough game and were defeated
6-3. Blyth goals were scored by
Mike Bromley, Benji Hakkers and
Chris Stewart, with assists going to
Mike Heffron (two), Hakkers,
Stewart and Tim Lyons.
Coach Neil Salverda said his
team played well, but were
unprepared for the conditions
created by the smaller ice surface in
Cayuga.
The Brussels PeeWee House-
league team lost a tough 8-2 game
to Stephen Twp. on Saturday.
Brian Oldfield scored both Brussels
goals, with assists going to Stephen
Todd and Marc Fischer.

the short end of the 3-2 score.
Heffron and Stewart scored for
Blyth, with assists going to
Bromley, Mark Wilson and Brad
Mulvey. Cayuga scored the
winning goal with less than one
minute left in overtime.
Coach Salverda said he felt his
team carried the game, but paid for
their inability to finish off some
plays. He commended them for
their ability to bounce back from
the previous evening's defeat.
The third game will be held in
Cayuga on Saturday, Fcb. 17.

tough week, losing the first two
