Ray and Barb Storey of the Winthrop-area are the leaders. There are 10 members in the club, each of whom will get two chinchillas which they will then show and sell. By John Storey The members talked about where chinchillas came from and how they got to Canada. They learned that chinchillas sleep during the day and run around at night. Some chinchillas live in the wild in South American. There are four breeds of chinchilla: Lanigera, Costina, Brevicoudata, North America. Ag. Soc. speaker tells of attidudes Continued from page 6 Hahn says. The petal of perspective means taking a look at what's being done by the organization and by individ- uals within it and reflecting on the focus of the group. The petal of persistence is evi- denced in the 135 year history of the Brussels Ag Society, Hahn said. "This is pretty good 'stick-to-itev- ness', being able to adapt to the changes, yet keeping strong." The fourth petal was that of patience. "You have to learn that everything comes in its own time. The fair will open, people will come, it will rain. There's nothing can be done to change these things." She added that it is also important to be patient with new volunteers. Pride is another petal that a vol- unteer can not bloom without. "Without pride in the Society or the fair it would wither. We show our pride in something by giving of ourselves." "Pride must have humility and humility means that people don't think less of themselves just think of themselves less often." She said a positive attitude means not living in the past, but planning for the future while living in the present. Attitude is important because failures will make or break organizations and individuals, Hahn said. "You can't change the inevitable. I believe life is 10 per cent of what happens to me and 90 per cent of how I react to it." Help protect the environment Reduce, reuse and recycle
