JANUARY IS OFSC ENVIRONMENT MONTH ENVIRONMENT TIPS Do your Part: Individual snowmobilers can demonstrate their personal commitment to the "Ontario's Last Frontier" conservation program by adopting a few simple trail behaviours that will reduce our cumulative environment impact: STAY ON THE TRAIL: Off trail riding can injure vulnerable plants and wildlife. It's also hard on your sled and can be dangerous too. Our trail corridors protect the unnecessary and random disruption. LEAVE TRACKS NOT TRASH: If you had room to bring it in, then don't litter. Carry it out with you and dispose of it properly. Trash is unsightly and can be dangerous to wildlife too. MAINTAIN YOUR SLED: Improperly tuned snowmobiles emit unnecessary exhaust or leak fluids that pollute the water and air. Avoid performance enhancements that result in excess noise or emissions. DON'T CHASE ANIMALS: Wildlife need their energy to survive, not to waste running away from you. So slow down to a complete stop and remain seated on your sled until they have moved off on their own. LEAVE NO TRACE: Responsible snowmobiling means Conserving Ontario's Last Frontier for the next person to enjoy as you did. So be trailwise and travel light. The only thing you should take is your memories. As snovvmobiling's popularity increases, more riders will be taking to our trails. So it's more important than ever for each of us to ride responsibly. Ontario's Last Frontier depends on you. * brussels.walton 41/4 *.
