Transferring the family farm
from one generation to the next is a
major personal and business,
transaction. Although transactions
are a natural part of farm life, they
may create tension and anxiety
among family members. Talking
about and planning for change can
make the transfer smoother and less
stressful for everyone.
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture,
Food and Rural Affairs is intro-
ducing Between Generations, a two
part television series on farm
family transfers. Any family that
wants to plan ahead for the transfer
of the farm business from parents
to son/daughter should watch
Between Generations as a first step
in understanding the personal, legal
and accounting issues involved.
The two part television series in
this area will be broadcast on
Sunday, Jan. 14 and 21 at 5:30 p.m.
on CFPL and CKNX. During the
program, viewers will be encour-
