Phone 523-9077. 49-1p Grey buys computer Grey Township Council held its regular meeting on Dec. 4 and accepted a proposal from MuniSoft to install a computer system in the municipal office at a price of $23,800 plus taxes. The MuniSoft system was one of four systems reviewed. Council authorized payment of general accounts totalling $71,311.18, drain accounts of $495.57 and road accounts of $123,462.08. Council authorized grants of $35 to the Ark (Community Youth Group) and $25 to the Wingham Palliative Care Services for 1995. The last regular meeting of 1995 is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18 at 9:30 a.m. 4-Hers produce By Sarah McLellan The Cranbrook 4-H Club met Dec. 2 in the first of four meetings "The Power of Produce". There were 12 members in attendance, two youth leaders, Julie Terpstra and Wanda Martin and two leaders, Amy Cronin and Elizabeth De Wit. The club executive was elected. It is: president, Kerry Blake; vice- president, Maggie Hallman; secretary, Stacey Bowles; press reporter, Sarah McLellan. They made Tomato Bruschetta, Tex-Mex Brocco Dip and three types of milkshakes. All the recipes were made and enjoyed by members and youth leaders, with help from the leaders. The next meeting was held on Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Grey Twp. shed. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank the Grey Township Council for allowing us to use their old meeting room. There were 11 tables of euchre in play at the Women's Institute Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Winners were: high lady, Agnes Bieman; second high, lady, Aileen Leddy; lone hands, Marie Merkley; low lady, Florence Schefter; high man, Jim Coultes; second high, man, George Inglis; lone hands, Ross Taylor; low man, Mel Jacklin. The last euchre of 1995 will be held Dec. 18 hosted by all members of the Ethel Hall Board who wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope to see everyone again in 1996. Sympathy of the community is extended to Doris Jacklin and fami- ly on the recent loss of Archie Jacklin, husband, father and grand- father and a life-long resident of Grey Twp. Sympathy also to Mary Hiusser and family on their recent bereave- ment in the loss of Barry Hiusser, husband, father and grandfather. E. Wawanosh protects landfill Steps were taken by East Wawanosh council at the Dec. 5 meeting, to protect the landfill site. All, refrigeration units must be red tagged by a qualified person, before being deposited in the at the landfill. Beginning Feb. 1, each house- hold in East Wawanosh will be issued 50 free tags, a year's supply, to be attached to all, garbage bags headed to the landfill: Any tags required.above the 50 will carry a $2.50 fee. Council authorized Road Super- intendent Ralph Campbell to seek advise on other user-pay programs. Grant Anger of RR2 Wingham, was hired as the new chief building official, bylaw enforcement officer and property standards officer, effective Jan. 1. Anger will be in the municipal office each Wednes- day morning from 9 a.m. until noon, to fill out applications for building permits as well as deal with other matters. Mike Cottrill will represent coun- cil on the Wingham Parks and Recreation board. The site plan control agreement, presented by Tri-County Lumber Inc, for Part Lot 28, Conc. 6, was accepted by council.
