The Brussels PeeWee Rep team
had a busy week this past week,
playing three games.
On Wednesday they played
Blyth, and came up on the short
end of a 4-3 game. Brian Oldfield
scored Brussels' first goal at 3:20 of
the first, assisted by Joel Kelling-
ton.
Brussels did not score again until
the third, when Kellington tallied at
6:56. An assist was given to Matt
Cameron. Cameron added another
at 1:57, assisted by Kellington and
Oldfield, but Blyth held on for the
victory.
Coach Murray Kellington said
his team played better this time
against Blyth than the last time.
On Friday they played a very
solid game, defeating Goderich 2-0.
Brussels scored both their goals in
the middle of the second period.
Matt McLellan. Matt McLellan
scored at 13:30, assisted by Chad
Fischer. Oldfield tallied at 10:49,
with assist§ going to Kellington and
Andy Van Beek.
Coach Kellington said Goderich
had defeated them 2-0 in their pre-
vious meeting, and his team
showed improvement in this victo-
On Saturday, they participated in
the PeeWee tournament held in
Blyth. They returned to the ice
against the same Blyth team that
defeated them earlier in the week.
This time, Blyth came away with
a solid 9-0 victory. Coach Kelling-
ton said his players were just not
into the game. "They did not play
even close to their potential," he
said.
The Brussels Crusaders split
weekend action and are tied with
Palmerston for third place in the
WOAA Senior "A" hockey league,
each with a 7 win — 4 loss record.
Friday night the Crusaders gave
up six, third-period goals in an 11-4
defeat to the hometown Clinton
Radar. Tom McDonald, Brent
Vandenakker, Corey McKee and
Brian Campbell scored for Brussels

PeeWee Reps lose 2, win 1
Tykes' Cronin great in goal
Although losing 7 - 4 Brussels
Tykes came close to winning with a
great team effort agairist Goderich.
Making some excellent saves on
what looked like sure goals was
Tommy Cronin.
Leading the scoring for Brussels
was Mathew White with two goals,
Cory Chapman with one and
scoring his first goal ever on a
breakaway was Christopher Jutzi.
Also picking up assists were
Chase Chapman, Chris Corbett,
and Andrew Mcdonald.
Making some great defensive
plays plays were: Adam Corbett,
Kyle Gibson, Nathan Prior, and
Adam McClure.
Showing their skating and
playmaking abilities were Justin
Thompson and Mitch Blake whc
both had chances to score.
The next game is on Dec. 9 ai
11 a.m. in Stephen Township.
Belgrave Tykes
take Lucknow
When the Belgrave Tykes took
on the Lucknow squad, Dec. 2,
they skated away with a 3-1 victo-
ry.
Scorers for Belgrave were Trevor
Hopf, Brandon Kellington and
Kevin Freiburger.
The Tykes next game is Dec. 9, 4
p.m., in Blyth, against Wingham.
