UCW plans potluck dinner
All women of Londesboro
United Church are invited to attend
the UCW pot luck on Dec. 4 at
6:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Muriel
Coultes of Belgrave, who will
show slides on her recent trip to
Japan for UCW.
Donations of foodstuff will be
accepted for the Salvation Army
Food bank.
The November meeting of
Londesboro UCW was held on
Monday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. at the
church.
The United Church Purpose was

treasurer's report. The balance as of
Nov. 20 was $2,399.48.

Council authorized the purchase
of one subscription to Municipal
World for a two-year period at a
cost of $79.50 plus GST.

Stewart told council that the PUC
had budgeted for a zero per cent
increase in hydro rates for 1996.
The budget still has to get the
approval of Ontario Hydro.

Council authorized and approved
the submission of the interim peti-
tion for road subsidy to the Min-
istry of Transportation. It is based
on expenditures for construction of
$47,895.36 and for maintenance of
$39,512.93.

Stewart gave a report on the Min-
istry of Municipal Affairs confer-
ence held in London, Nov. 10. He
said the message that kept coming
up from all the speakers and at the
seminars was amalgamation,
annexation, shared services and
contracting out.
He said the suggestion that he got
was that enormous changes will be
coming in the near future.
Helen Lyon. Several thank yous

The worship service opened with
the hymn Jesus Loves Even Me.
Margaret Good read an article on
Vision. Lena Nesbitt led in prayer.
Tray favours for Christmas for
Clinton Public Hospital, and gift
boxes for shut-ins were made.
Lunch was served by Reta Kclland,
Liz Lawson and Gail Lear.
56 play euchre
The second euchre tournament
was held at Londesboro Hall on
Saturday, Nov. 25. There were 14
tables of euchre.
Winners were: first, Geraldine
Dale and Mary East; second,Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Heipel; third, Roy
and Marie Krauter; lone hands,
Jack and Helen Lee; share the
wealth, Don Buchanan won twice,
and Barb Bosman.
The next euchre will be on
Friday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m.
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, Nov. 26 were
Ken Hunking and Bernice Norman.
Ushers were Katie MacGregor and
Susie Salvcrda.
The anthem Walk With God
was sung by Ruth Vincent.
Scripture, Luke 17: 18 - 23 was
read by Katherine Allen. A Minute
for Missions was read by Don
MacGregor.
The sermon topic was "Who's In
Charge Here?"
Session and Committee of
Stewards will meet on Tuesday,
Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday
School Room. The official board
will meet the same night at 9 p.m.
Choir practice is at 10:15 a.m.
