PeeWee Bs sizzle in 3 wins
The Blyth Juveniles improved on
their winning record on Sunday,
with a 3-2 victory over Teeswater.
Blyth goals were scored by Mike
Bromley (two) and Don Dolmage.
Assists were given to Tim Lyons,
Chris Stewart and Brad Mulvey.
Coach Neil Salverda said the
game was very entertaining, and
The Huron Hurricane swimmers
travelled to New Hamburg on Oct.
22 for their first away meet of the
season. This was the first time
many novice swimmers competed.
Hurricane girls defeated New
Hamburg girls 155 to 96.-The New
Hamburg boys beat the Hurricane
boys 122 - 113.
Totalling the results put the
Hurricanes in front, with 268 points
to New Hamburgs 218 points.
On Nov. 4 and 5, 15 Huron
Hurricane swimmers participated in
a Swim Ontario meet. The meet
held in St. Thomas, was hosted by
the St. Thomas Jumbo Jets.
The Hurricanes placed fifth.
Many club swimmers achieved
personal best times at this meet.
Anyone swimming a 400-metre
race won a teddy bear.
Richard Million, a Hurricane
swimmer from Goderich had
personal best times in all six events
he participated in. Lesley Burton
from Wingham, was chosen tor'
team swimmer. She had five
personal best swims!
Swimmers who earned the most
team points were Kristy Cameron
(Clinton), five first place finishes
and one second place for 40 points;
Kevin Schill (Wingham), three
firsts and three seconds for 36
points; Ryan McKee (Goderich),
three seconds, one third and one
fourth for 22 points; Mike Durst
(Goderich), one second, three
Atoms lose
The Brussels Atom Houseleague
team lost a close 3-0 game to
Stephen Twp. this past week.
Coach Merle Hoegy said the
team played well, but just couldn't
put the puck in the net.
Neither team dominated the play,
but Stephen Twp. was able to come
away with the win.
The team takes to the ice again
this Friday evening, again against
Stephen Twp. at 7:30 p.m.
Tykes' Cook scores
The Blyth Tykes lost a
disappointing 6-1 game to Stephen
Twp. this past week. Darcey Cook
scored the lone goal for Blyth.
Despite a number of close calls,
however, they were unable to tally
any further scores.

Snowy weather on Sunday, Nov.
19, did not stop" the Huron
Hurricanes from participating in a
meet at Burlington. During the
meet younger swimmers learned
how to start a race properly. Many
swimmers improved their swim
times, unfortunately, Burlington'

The Huron Hurricanes travelled
to the London Aquatic Centre on
November 24, 25 and 26 for their
next Swim Ontario meet.
The Wingham Wcstcast PeeWees
were off and flying last week as
they won all three games they
played.
The first game was played in
Lucknow with Wingham coming
away with a strong 5-2 decision.
Justin Campbell of Belgrave got
things going at 8:27 with help from
Jim McCracken also of Belgrave
and Jamie Koch.
Peter Dixon followed up from
Aaron Himmelman and Belgrave's
Tom Mullin.
Brett Coulthard completed the
scoring in the first from Belgrave's
Justin Black and Garret Skinn.
Lucknow got its only two goals
of the game in the first and
Wingham held a 3-2 lead. Black
then scored in the second from
Skinn before another Belgrave

Bantams
The Blyth Bantams picked up
two more victories'this past week,
and boosted their record to 6-0-1.
On Monday, they defeated
Seaforth 6-3. Mike Haggitt led the
attack with two goals and two
assists. Further goals were scored
by Mike Courtney, (two), Mike
Ansley (one) and Jeff Cowan (one).

Atoms tie
Hensall
The Blyth Atoms travelled to
Hensall this past Saturday, and
played to a 6-6 tie.
Goals were scored by Kirk
Stewart, Cole Stewart, Jeff Carter,
Robbie Archambault, Micah Loder
and Michael Bean. Assists were
credited to Cole Stewart (two),
Carter, Archambault, Neil Salverda
and Shaun Henry.
After scoring four in the third,
and taking the lead, Hensall tied it
up with 35 seconds left.
Coach Tom Jarrett said the boys
controlled the play for most of the
game, and showed great improve-
ment in their team game.
They return to the Blyth ice this
Wednesday, against Zurich, at
np m.
Belgrave Girls
earn 1-1 tie
The Belgrave Junior Girls played
an entertaining game against Elma-
Logan last week.
In a low-scoring effort, Kerri
Meiers tied the game in the third
period. The game ended in a 1-1
tie.
Coach Cam Procter commended
them for their good effort.

The PeeWee Bs travelled to
Belmore on Friday and scored an

out, Campbell scored to end the
second period 5-0.
In the third period the flood gate
opened with McQuiggan scoring
twice and Campbell adding his
second of the game. Himmelman
finished the night off from Kyle
Anders6n at 3:09 of the third.
Teeswater spoiled an easy
shutout with a lone goal in the final
Kyle Anderson and Chris Carter.
Trainer Cord Haggitt felt that,
despite the victory, the team did not
play up to its potential.
On Friday, the Bantams
improved their play, and defeated
Milverton 9-2. Jeff Cowan was the
highlight of this game, scoring four
goals and adding one assist.
Additional goals were scored by
period.
Playing at home on Sunday the
PeeWee Bs met a bigger and
stronger Walkerton team yet won a
hard hitting game 4-3. Anderson
scored two in the first period

Walkerton beat Kate Lane to
close the gap, but Tim -Robinson of
Belgrave maintained the two goal
advantage from Marks and
Anderson.
Walkerton again narrowed the
margin to one with an early third
period goal past James Needham.
Wingham never trailed as
Coulthard banged it in from Skinn
and Campbell to pulPahead by two.
They did sag a bit in the third and
Walkerton came on strong to pull
within one and made the last few
minutes tense.

Haggitt (two), Ansley (two), Darryl
Bromley (two), Carter, Mason and
Jamie Black.
Haggitt said the team started out
slowly, but improved their
teamwork and were able to come
