The Blyth Commu- nity Greenway Project is underway. Eighteen interested people gath- ered, Nov. 21, to discuss the next step in the project and listen to pub- lic input regarding the proposed project. In detailing some information from a previous meeting, Phil Beard from the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority said much of the work would focus on the old rail bed, with the greenway running from the Stedm Threshers Park to the brook, then east to the arch. Verbal commitments have been received from the Blyth Lions Club, Horticultural Society, Opti- mists, and Snowtravellers. The Masonic Lodge has offered volun- teer labour and financial support while the Boy Scouts were interest- ed in assisting the Optimists with fish habitat rehabilitation work. Each group would be allowed to submit their ideas.
