Children's performer
to appear in Brussels
Quartette performs in Blyth, Dec. 2
Class act
The combined talents of four well known Canadian
performers, Sylvia Tyson, Colleen Peterson, Cindy
Church and Caitlin Hanford comprise Quartette, a blend
of country, folk, rock, gospel and blues.
The bad weather on Saturday
evening, Nov. 11, didn't dampen
the spirits of the crowd in
attendance at the Kick-Off for the
Londesboro and District Lions
"Hallways" project. The event took
place at the Hall and was planned
to present some great local talent
and to support the hall renovation
project.
Lion President Allan Bosman
was MC for the evening and
performers included piper John
Jewitt and drummer Katie Mac-
Gregor, vocal numbers by Rosalyn
Hartman, Shannon Scott and Barb
Bosman, Elgin Nott on the violin
and Gladys VanEgmond who
provided backup for many of the
numbers as well as performing
themselves and Norma Preszcator's
Line Dancers and the Carry On
Cloggers.
Throughout the evening, various
fundraisers were introduced. A
beautiful butterfly quilt donated by
the late Madeline Radford is being
offered for silent auction, clown
banks could be purchased for a
small amount, the idea being to fill
them over the next few months
with your pocket change, and bring
them back to the pork barbecue in
May, when they will be weighed
and emptied, with prizes being
given at that time. Each full penny
bank is worth a free barbecue
ticket.
Also, raffle tickets were available
and will continue to be until May,
for chances to win the lovely quilt
made by the Londesboro Quilters
with material donated by Marg
