THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1995. PAGE 21.
Former 'Citizen' staffer
wins ag. writing award
A former member of The Citizen
staff was honoured recently at the
Canadian Farm Writers Federation
Awards Banquet in Ottawa.
Lisa Boonstoppel-Pot, RR3,
Auburn, a member of the Ontario
Farmer editorial staff, was one of
two recipients of the bronze 0. H.
Martinson award for her story
"Scavenging Turkey Vultures".
Winning the award, she said,
"feels good".
Boonstoppel-Pot's association
with The Citizen dates back to the
late 80s when she was a student at
Central Huron Secondary School
and worked, at the newspaper
through the co-op program. She
also spent one summer here, while
a student of journalism at Humber
College.
Following her marriage to Fred-
dy Pot in 1990, Boonstoppel-Pot
worked at The Grand Valley Star &
Vidette, then later The Halton Hills
Herald. In 1992, they moved back
to the area and Boonstoppel-Pot
once again came back to work at
The Citizen.
She joined the editorial staff of
The Ontario Farmer shortly before
the birth of their second child
Linaya. The Pots also have a son
Jesse.
Boonstoppel-Pot is the daughter
of Hans and Audrey of RR1,
Auburn.
The Citizen staff congratulates
Lisa for this recognition of the
quality of her work.
