PAGE 21. Former 'Citizen' staffer wins ag. writing award A former member of The Citizen staff was honoured recently at the Canadian Farm Writers Federation Awards Banquet in Ottawa. Lisa Boonstoppel-Pot, RR3, Auburn, a member of the Ontario Farmer editorial staff, was one of two recipients of the bronze 0. H. Martinson award for her story "Scavenging Turkey Vultures". Winning the award, she said, "feels good". Boonstoppel-Pot's association with The Citizen dates back to the late 80s when she was a student at Central Huron Secondary School and worked, at the newspaper through the co-op program. She also spent one summer here, while a student of journalism at Humber College. Following her marriage to Fred- dy Pot in 1990, Boonstoppel-Pot worked at The Grand Valley Star & Vidette, then later The Halton Hills Herald. In 1992, they moved back to the area and Boonstoppel-Pot once again came back to work at The Citizen. She joined the editorial staff of The Ontario Farmer shortly before the birth of their second child Linaya. The Pots also have a son Jesse. Boonstoppel-Pot is the daughter of Hans and Audrey of RR1, Auburn.
