While one member of the Belgrave Atom Houseleague team concentrates on the puck, his
teammate keeps an eye on the Brussels player, who's moving in to intercept. The two teams
met in Brussels on Saturday morning.
Brussels Atoms tie Wingham
Wingham. Krotz led the Brussels
effort, with two goals and an assist.
Other goals were scored by
Dilworth and Darrell McClure.
Further assists went to Dilworth,
Joel Hemingway and Tyler
Campbell.
Coach Alan Krotz said that while
the Friday game was a disappoint-__
ing ettort, the boys showed good
discipline on Sunday, bouncing
back from a 3-0 deficit to earn the
tie.
The team takes to the ice again
this Friday at 7:30 in Brussels
against Goderich. They follow that
with a 3:30 afternoon game on
Saturday in Clinton.
Jeff Cowan, Chris Carter, Kyle
Anderson and Brad Mason. Other
assists went to Bromley two, Jamie
Black two, Courtney, Cowan,
Carter, Jon Kochis and Mike
Ansley.
Coach Gord Haggitt commended
the strong goaltending of Scott
Bromley, and was pleased with the
effort he has seen thus far. He
pointed out that their wins have
come against larger centres,
making their 3-0 record more
impressive. The team's next game
will be in Goderich at 7 p.m.
Wednesday evening.
The team now has a 2-0 record,
having won last week's game
against Ripley 4-2. Their next
home game will be this Sunday at
3:15, against Listowel.

team effort on penalty killing and
the powerplay (four powerplay
goals were scored) was terrific.
The Blyth Atoms won a close 2-1
game over Milverton last
Wednesday. Blyth goals were
scored by Nathan Loder and Shaun
Henry.
Coach Tom Jarrett said the team
played well, but feels they are
capable of much more.
PeeWees lose
The Brussels Pee Wee Rep team
played an entertaining game against
Zurich on Friday evening, with the
visitors coming away with a 3-2
victory.
Joel Kellington scored both goals
for Brussels, with an assist going to
Carla Hunt.

Goderich thumps Tykes
The Brussels Atom Rep team
played two games this past
weekend. On Friday, they lost 6-1
to Zurich. Lee Dilworth scored
Brussels' lone goal in the final
minute of the game, with an assist
going to Nolan Krotz.
On Sunday, the boys bounced
back to gain a 4-4 tie against
The Blyth Bantams took to the
ice on Nov. 6 against Wingham and
came away with a convincing 8-3
victory.

Elma-Logan scored six
unanswered third period goals
enroute to a 10-2 win over the
Brussels Bantams Wednesday
night.
Jason Kellington scored once and
set up Trevor Wilson for the second
Brussels goal, while Cory
Broughton scored the hat-trick for
Elma-Logan.
The Bantams were in Blyth
Monday night and are at home to
Seaforth tonight at 7:30 p.m.
The Blyth Midgets put out a
commendable effort against St.
Marys last Tuesday, finishing on
the high end of a 5-1 game.
Blyth scored their first two goals
in the first period. At 9:21, Mark
Wilson scored, assisted by Mike
Salverda and Chris Stewart. At
7:51, Stewart scored with Salverda
getting another assist.
They added three more in the
third. At 5:55, Salverda scored
unassisted. At 4:04, Brian Marks
The Ripley Wolves scored four
unanswered third period goals for
an 8-7 win over the Brussels
Crusaders Saturday night in
WOAA Senior "A" hockey.
Sean Burton led the Wolf attack
with four goals, including the
winner with 49 seconds remaining
in the game, while Steve Fritz with
three, Corey McKee with two, Tim
Fritz and Brent Vandenakker
scored for Brussels.
Pat Cronin faced 37 shots in the
Crusader net, while the Ripley duo
of Art Houghton and Matt
MacLeod stopped 34 attempts.
The Crusaders are at home for
two games this weekend, Friday at
9 p.m. to the Wiarton Redmen and
put the puck in the net. Assists on
that goal went to Rick Cook and
Chad Haggitt.
Blyth's final goal came at 3:39 of
the third, when Marks scored his
second, assisted by Stewart and
Don Dolmage.
Coach John Blok commended
both teams for an entertaining,
clean game. Only six penalties
were called in the game. Blok said
this was the boys' best game so far.
Saturday at 7 p.m. to the Drayton
Comets.
Friday night in Goderich the
Crusaders scored 10 second period
goals for a 17-6 win over the
Pirates.
Dean Wheeler and Brent
Vandenakker each enjoyed a three
goal, seven point game while Brad
Beuermann (one goal, five assists)
and Corey McKee (two goals, four
assists) enjoyed six point games.
Ted Sills, Mike MacKay and
Tom McDonald scored two each
with singles by Tim Fritz and Jeff
Earl.
Darren Doak scored three for
