PAGE 9. The November meeting of Londesboro WI was held on Wednesday evening, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. They opened with The Opening Ode, 0 Canada and Mary Stewart Collect. Lois read a poem on a flock of geese. The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. The financial report was given by Reta. The bills were approved for payment. A letter from the Huron County Christmas Bureau for help was read. There was also a letter from the Town and Country Home- makers asking for a donation. Roll call was done. Marjorie Anderson introduced the guest Sunday was anniversary Sunday at Londesboro United- Church. Greeters were Hazel Watkins and Genevieve Allen. Ushers were Donald Allen and Doug Snell. Flowers and plants were placed at the front of the church in memory of Leonard Shobbrook and Wm. Scholl by their families. Several people who enriched the worship service through their ministry of music were thanked. They were: Barb Bosman, Bonnie Jewitt, Karen Trick, Jennifer Szusz, By Stephanie Muehlethaler, Annie Martin, Jennifer Jackson, Sharon Hartman, Diana Bakelaar A group of Grade 3s from Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Bosman's Grade 3 classes have started an Internet unit on Snow. They met at recesses to gather data and they E-mailed it to their contact school in Brantford. Over the next few months they will be answering questions and collecting data. They hope to get interesting information from lots of different schools. The Grade 4 class is busy in Environment Studies working on an "Insect Project." In math they are learning oral math games such as Beat the Clock, Wheel of Tables and Conductor. There is also a team competition called "Newcomb Ball". The class has started an eight- week program on the computer. Keyboarding with Mr. Gingerich is held at the resource room. This will help all kids with keyboarding. Kindergartens had lots of fun with Halloween activities. Congratulations to Rachel Snell, Emma Wilts and Jenna Roy for winning prizes for the posters for the hall. speaker, her granddaughter Lindsay Anderson who spoke on her trips to Quebec and Belgium as an exchange student. Lois presented her with a gift and a cook book. She was a very interesting speaker. Donations were approved to Town and Country Homemakers and the Children's Aid. A motion was made to feed 120 people at the graduation banquet in June. Moved by Marjorie, seconded by Helen membership be paid to the Historical Society. Lois gave a report of the London convention at Kirkton and the Fall Rally at Gorrie. Lunch was served by Helen Dale, Annie Vincent and June Fothergill. Andrea Postma, Gail Lear, and the senior choir. The November meeting of the UCW will be at the church on Monday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School room. A Minute for Missions was read by Bert Lyon. The anniversary speaker was Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez of Empress United Church in London. A pot luck lunch was held after the service. Huronview Fellowship is Thurs- day, Nov. 16 from 7 - 7:45 p.m. Bears was the topic for this week. Each student made a bear with moving legs and arms. They look like they are dancing. We welcome Henry Janzen and Peter Dyck to our class. REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE On Friday, Nov. 9 the school Remembrance Day service was held at the United Church in Londesboro. A representative from the Blyth Legion came to present prizes for the poems and essays. The band played two songs and the junior and senior choirs both sang. Many poems were read by the students. Some people from the Grade 8 classes played a big part in the service, such as Maranda Blake who was the Master of Ceremonies and Angie Martin who played the Last Post for the moment of silence. SUPPER The ham supper was a great success. Over 260 people attended. The profits from this will go to new gymnasium curtains, curtains for the classrooms and software for the computers. These are just some of the suggestions. We would like to thank the School Advisory Committee for helping our school out. People The sympathy of the community is extended to Mary Shobbrook and family, Cliff Shobbrook and Beth Knox on the passing of a father, husband and brother, Leonard Shobbrook.
