elgrave School Fair great success

N. Moore hosts UCW
The Evening Unit of the UCW
met at the home of Norma Moore
with 20 members answering the
roll call with a memory of
Armistice Day. The meeting was
opened with a Remembrance Day
prayer read by Muriel Coultes.
Ida Procter began the worship
service with a meditation "Ways
we could get close to God." Praise
God from Whom All Blessings
Flow and Now Thank We All Our
God was sung.

The roast beef supper, sponsored
by the Belgrave United Church,
will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15.
Tickets should be purchased in

Bill and Muriel Coultes, Karen
Cook and Allison Wightman
attended the funeral of Muriel's
uncle, Harold Down on Wednes-
day, Nov. 8 in Stratford.
Sympathy is extended to the
family by friends and neighbours in
the community.
"Prelude to Christmas" is being
held on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30
p.m. in the Women's Institute Hall.
This is being put on by the
Women's Institute. Dessert and
coffee will be served. Everyone is
welcome.
"Home Sweet Home Craft and
Bake Sale" will be held Saturday,
Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the
Belgrave Community Centre. It is
sponsored by the Belgrave Guides,
Brownies and Sparks. Everyone is
welcome.
Mr. and Mrs. Allister Green of
Goderich recently called on their
cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
Stonehouse.
Nancy Jardin and Gwen McLean
attended a Growing Church Team
Conference at St. Stephen's
Anglican Church in London last
weekend as part of a team from St.
Paul's Trinity Anglican Church,
Wingham. It was a very interesting
and enjoyable weekend.
The Wightman Christmas was
held on Sunday, Nov. 5 in the
Women's Institute Hall. A Christ-
mas potluck dinner and social time
was enjoyed with around 52 people
attending.
Relatives came from Barrie,
Samia, Bolton, Brampton, Toronto,
Hanover, Lucknow, Fergus, Guelph
and Belgrave.
Congratulations are extended to
Shaun Galbraith for receiving his
Green Belt at Tae Kwon Do in
Kitchener last Friday, Nov. 3.
Mrs. Clarence Yuill spent several
days with her daughter, Linda
Lichtenberger and family of St.
Thomas last week.

The offering was received and
dedicated and the worship service
closed with prayer.
During the business the election
of officers took place: leader,
Barbara Anderson; secretary,
Donna Shaw; treasurer, Muriel
Coultes; social, Sheila Nixon,
Norma Moore, Laura Johnston;
community friendship, Louise
Bosman; pianist, Freda Johnston;
group leaders, Lorna Cook, Doris
Michie, Mabel Wheeler, Thelma
Pletch, Annie Cook, Mildred Yuill.
The roll call for December will
be a pair of mitts for the Christmas
Bureau.
Mildred Yuill introduced the
program by reading the story of
Zaechaeus's wife's reaction to an
unexpected guest for dinner. The
group then discussed how the story
could relate to today.
The meeting closed with prayer.
Grace was sung and lunch was
served by Jane Grasby and Lois
Anderson.
Once again the School Fair was a
great success. The enthusiasm
really showed with over 2,700
exhibits at the fair. The school fair
board thanks all students, teachers
and parents for all their help in
making the 75th anniversary fair a
success.
Results are: overall winner,
Danielle Thompson, Grade 7, 150
points.
Four books are awarded to the
junior and senior students with the
highest points at the fair. They are:
junior girls, Camerra Yuill, 66 pts.;
The senior ladies' bowling scores
for Wednesday, Nov. 8 were: Doris
Remington, 148, 152; Marj
Coultes, 165, 178; Laura Johnston,
107, 110; Mabel Wheeler, 115,

There were eight tables of euchre
in play at the Women's Institute
Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

There were 12 tables of shoot on
Friday, Nov. 10 at the Belgrave
Community Centre. The next shoot
party will be on Friday, Nov. 24
at1:30 p.m. in the Women's
Institute Hall.

Coultes; most shoots, Agnes Gaunt;
low lady, Vi Howes; high man,

Moms meet
Mabel's Moms met on the regular
day with the following present:

purchase of a membership at the
Talent Auction.

awarded to the students winning
the highest points in school work

Eating was serious work for three-year-old Whitney Hulley
as she enjoyed some of the delicious food available at-the
fundraising dinner at Londesboro Hall. Organainzed by
the Hullett Central Public School Parent Support Group to
raise money for the school, several of the senior students
helped with the meal.

1995 PROPERTY ASSESSMENT
Attention Property Owners and Tenants In the
County of Huron
As required by the Municipal Act, all properties in the county have
been reassessed.
A "Notice of Assessment' is being sent to all property owners and
tenants. Your Notice shows the new assessed value of your
property.
Your 1996 property taxes will be based on this value.
An explanation of the reassessment, the dates of Information
Open Houses, and details on how to appeal your assessment are
included with the Notice.
The 1995 assessment roll, which lists the assessed value of each
property in your municipality, will be delivered to your municipal
clerk on December 19, 1995. The final date for appealing your
1995 assessment to the Assessment Review Board is
January 9, 1996. There is a fee for filing an appeal.
