Huron County has 19 food advisors
who have completed a government-
sponsored training course and are
available for presentations or
workshops, cooking classes or food
demonstrations free of charge, but
any food or supplies used may need
to be paid for. Beth Wilke at the
Health Unit is the contact person.
Jerry Horst from OMAFRA said
they and the WI have almost the
same goals — leadership,
organizational consultation and
community development. There are
two workshops upcoming at the
Clinton boardroom — What's the
Scoop, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
at $30 and Beyond Police Checks,
Nov. 17, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

thanked the membership for their
continued support.

Joan Law, resolutions convenor
from Guelph Area was the
afternoon guest speaker. She used
the theme "Let's Communicate" in
her presentation. Communication
comprises Reading, 10 per cent,
Hearing, 20 per cent, Seeing, 30
per cent, Hear and See 50 per cent,
Talking 70 per cent, Say and Do 90
per cent. Joan made sure no one
was a Downy Dozer during her
talk. She ended by saying "Some
feel the rain, others just get wet."
Walton conducted "Whisper a
Secret''. The message started out as
Brenda John's Holstein Horse is in
the Kippen Barley. By the time it
had circled the room it finished as
"gentleman's horse in pasture or
field." This was entertaining but
certainly a lack of communications!
Karen A. Vansteelandt of Dublin
