Hundreds of elementary school students converged on
the Blyth Festival Theatre on Oct. 23 for the first day of a
two-week showing of the Let's Do Munsch. Originally set
to run only three days, more than 5,800 tickets have been
sold and the play now will run for 9 days. Those attending
the Monday morning show were from Wingham PS,
Robertson PS, Goderich; Sacred Heart, Wingham;
Egremont Community School, Holstein and St. Ambrose
and Jeanne Sauve, Stratford.
Good cookin'
It was time again for some delicious home cooking when
Trinity Anglican Church in Blyth hosted its annual roast
beef supper last Thurday. Forest Whittard was slicing the
meat for the many who turned out to sample the country
fare in the Memorial Hall basement.

some of the most remarkable
characters ever written when Cat

It's Big Daddy Pollitt's birthday
on a hot and steamy afternoon in
Mississippi, but the elaborate party
hides the truth of an impending
death, and family members are
locked in battle for an inheritance
as big as the South itself. Who will
inherit "28,000 acres of the richest
land this side of the Valley Nile?"
Brick is Big Daddy's favourite,
but he drinks, and he and his wife,
Maggie, are childless. Maggie, for
her part, is determined to survive,
whatever it takes ...
Douglas Campbell is Big Daddy,
Stuart Hughes is Brick, Seanna
McKenna is Maggie "the Cat",
Marion Gilsenan is Big Mama,
Michelle Fisk and Ric Reid are
Mae and Gooper, bent on getting
control of the family fortune, Lewis
Gordon is Doctor Baugh and
Michael Healey is Reverend
Tooker.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is directed
by Miles Potter, with set and
costume design by Peter Hartwell
and lighting by Kevin LaMotte.
