PAGE 17. al td ie 0 Blyth skaters plan skate-a-thon, Oct. 28 Crusaders blast Lancers 10-7 Brent VanDenAkker enjoyed a four goal seven point game Sunday afternoon in leading the Brussels KEEP PHYSEAL IN EDUCATION Crusaders to a 10-7 exhibition win over the Lucknow Lancers. Tim Fritz scored once and set up On Oct.28 Blyth Minor Hockey and Blyth Figure Skating Clubs will be holding the Blyth Skate-a- thon fundraiser. Anyone who has skates is welcome to participate. Pledge sheets are available at the arena from Jeff Peters at 523-4366. The skate-a-thon runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Skaters seven and under skate until 11:15 a.m. There are breaks every hour and a half hour for lunch. Free treats of apples, juice, Pepsi, chips and homemade goodies will be available at break times. Skaters are responsible for their own lunches, but the booth will be open. Traffic controllers will be cruising the ice at all times, so it will be safe even for the young skaters. Music, races and games will add to the fun on the ice. Skaters are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes, with prizes being awarded in the two age groups.
