Couple weds in Brussels Duizers marry in Bahama ceremony Amy and Mike Cronin DUIZER - ELSON Kelly Elson, daughter of Lorraine Elson of Clinton and Lloyd Elson of Elginfield and Steve Duizer, son of Tom and Marjorie Duizer of Londesboro, were married on Oct. 10, 1995 on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Kelly and Steve would like to invite their friends and family to join them at a reception celebrating their marriage on Friday, Oct. 27 at the Clinton Legion at 9 p.m. CRONIN-TERPSTRA Amy Terpstra, daughter of Herman and Rosemary Terpstra, Brussels, and Mike Cronin, son of Jerry and Heather Cronin, St. Columban were united in marriage at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Brussels, on Aug. 26, 1995. Fr. Joseph Hardy officiated the ceremony. Angela Terpstra, sister of the bride, was the maid of honour. Bridesmaids were Julie and Jen Terpstra, sisters of the bride and Kari Cronin, cousin of the groom. The flower girl was Melanie Potvin, Ottawa, cousin of the bride. Dave Cronin, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Kelly VanBakel, and Mike Etue, friends of the groom and Jeremy Terpstra, brother of the bride. The ring bearer was Ryan McLaughlin, Paris, cousin of the bride. The organists were Mary-Jane Coyne and Angela Terpstra. Soloists were Karen Price, Miriam Terpstra and Julie Terpstra. Readers during the ceremony were Shawn Terpstra, Brussels; Melanie Cronin, St. Columban and Anne Marie Huitema, Kinkora. Alterboys were Herman Terpstra, Dwayne Terpstra and Derek Terpstra. bituaries ROBERT GRANT KIRKBY On Oct. 8, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer, Robert Kirkby of 100 Mile House, B.C. and formerly of Walton passed away at 100 Mile House Hospital in his 50th year. Robert will be dearly missed by his wife, the former Freda Cook, three stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Rosemarie) Olson of Manitoba, Ruth Ann White of B.C., Mrs. Dan (Reta) Dick of B.C., two stepsons Rodney and Robert White of B.C., eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was the dear brother of Mrs. Gerald (MaryLou) Balding of Alberta, two nieces Mrs. Kevin (Debbie) Schielke, Mrs. Dale (Darlene) Jacobsen, and one nephew Mr. Wayne and Rhodelle Taylor, all of Alberta. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert James Kirkby, March 5, 1957 and his brother David Malcolm Kirkby on Nov. 29, 1981. The late Robert Kirkby memorial service was held at Bethel Chapel on Oct. 13, 1995 by Pastor Dave Mosley of 100 Mile House B.C. JOHN EDWARD WILLIAMSON John Edward Williamson of Crediton, formerly of Walton, passed away suddenly as the result of a farming accident, on Saturday, Oct. 21, 1995. He was 26. He was the beloved husband of Heidi Williamson, the loving father of his infant son, Derrick and loved son of Ken and Anne Williamson of Walton and son-in-law of Richard and Judy Israels of Bruce- field. Mr. Williamson was the loving brother of Carol Anne and Charles Regele of Dublin, Robert and Heather Williamson of Walton, Diane and Dennis Gregory of Ethel, Cathy and Harry Boyle of Dungannon and Jeff and Becky Williamson of Crediton. He was the dear grandson of George and Mane Blake of Brus- sels. Mr. Williamson is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral mass was celebrated on Oct. 23, from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Brussels. Father Joe Nevitt officiated. Cremation followed. Pallbearers were Robert Williamson, Jeff Williamson, Charles Regele, Dennis Gregory, Todd Israels and Scott Israels. Harry Boyle was the flower bear- er. In remembrance, donations to an educational fund for John's infant son, Derrick, would be appreciated by the family. JACK BISHOP Jack Bishop of Ethel passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Huron County Chapter and Huron County Health Unit presented Women and Heart Health recently at the OMAFRA office, Clinton. Around 60 women from the Clinton area attended this presentation on improving their odds against heart disease, the number one killer of women in Canada. The following health professionals conducted the program, after registration, a hearty welcome, along with breakfast and a 30-minute video. Dr. Heather Percival, family physician, Seaforth, gave an educational address on heart and stroke symptoms that affect women and a lively question period followed. Public Health Nurse Anne Haley, spoke on the risk factors of heart disease in women and the physical activity needed to help as a preventative. 1995, at the Pinecrest Manor Nurs- ing Home, Lucknow. He was in his 68th year. He was the beloved son of the Late William and Verna Bishop and the loving brother of Eva and Clarence Flood of Walton, Helen and Bill Potter of Frankford, Win- nie Bishop of Listowel, Agnes Diehl of Monkton and the late Ron Diehl, Ethel and Ross Flood of Mitchell, Clarence and Rose Marie Bishop of Ethel and Mary Bishop of Kitchener and the loved nephew of Laura Souch of Wingham. Mr. Bishop is survived by several nieces and nephews. Rev. Campbell officiated at the service, held on Oct. 20 at Betts •Funeral Home in Brussels. Interment was at Brussels Ceme- tery, Brussels. Pallbearers were Calvin Semple, Jim Stephenson, Brian Armstrong, Kevin Dietner and Tom Miller. Carrying the floral tributes were Huron County Health Unit dietician Deb Stewart, spoke on healthy eating. Public Health Nurses Sharon Able, explained the hazards of tobacco use and second hand smoke while Nurse Connie Kuc outlined the management of stress in your life and the damage it cart cause. The program wrapped up with an evaluation and educational material was distributed to those present. Microman. MARGARET TAMAN Suddenly at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto on Friday, Oct. 13, 1995, Margaret Taman in her 97th year. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1972. Mrs. Taman was the loved aunt of Kenneth and his wife Marlene Armstrong and Doreen and her husband Glen Carter, all of Londesboro. She will be sadly missed by all her grand-nieces, nephews and many friends.
