Brussels Livestock report 517 steers average $84-$88, reach $96.75 high Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Sept. 22 were: fed cattle, 786; cows, 165; veal calves, 153; sheep and goats, 224; stockers, 1,347 and pigs, 186. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers and heifers selling $1 higher. Cows sold steady. On Thursday veal sold $2 - $3 higher. Lambs sold fully steady. Friday saw all stockers selling on a good active fully steady trade. There were 517 steers on offer selling from $84 to $88 to the high of $96.75. Thirty-nine steers consigned by Rick Stam, Kincardine, averaging 1,197 lbs. sold for an average of $86.17 with sales to $96.75. Thirty steers consigned by Kada Farms, Bluevale, averaging 1,319 lbs. sold for an average of $84.60 with sales to $94.50. Twelve steers consigned by Johnston Farms, Bluevale, averaging 1,344 lbs. sold for an average of $87.48 with sales to $93.75. Fifty-three steers consigned by W. B. Pletch Co. Marshall Stachniak, newly appointed vice-president of FCC Ontario Region invites all farmers in the area to attend the opening ceremony at 12:15 p.m. and join him and his staff for a barbecue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. "We made the decision to relocate our office from Goderich to Clinton to improve service to our customers. This more centralized location will better serve the overall area. We believe that FCC niust maximize accessibility in our rural communities, particularly in view of our expanded lending mandate. FCC's new Clinton office, located in the "Heart of Huron County", is ideally situated to provide access to all our clients in the area," Stachniak said. FCC is a Crown Corporation that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Agriculture and Agri- Food. The Corporation received a new and broader mandate with the passage of the Farm Credit Corporation Act on April 2, 1993. FCC is Canada's largest agricultural long-term lender, with a loan portfolio of 56,000 accounts, valued at $3.5 billion. In Huron County, FCC's portfolio consists of 1,251 accounts, valued at $90,176,592. FCC's 760 employees serve clients from more than 100 offices across Canada.
