trip to Labrador
Are you sure it's a dog!
Fantasia was one of the most popular attractions at the 75th Belgrave School Fair as the
youngsters had a hard time believing the Great Dane was actually a dog. A few even
attempted a mock horseback ride.

more arrangements, while giving
those present a number of helpful
tips on cutting, spraying and drying
flowers and foliage.
Wilma then donated two of her
arrangements to those having a
birthday or anniversary nearest that
date.
Gladys thanked the speaker and
presented her with a small gift on
behalf of the group.
She then read a poem entitled
"Don't be Afraid to Fail", which
was well received.
During the business part of the
meeting Dorothy gave a report on
to share their stories with you.
We are doing "All About Me"
centres and learning lots of things
about ourselves. Each week during
the year, one child will be chosen
to be "Super Kid" and will make a
bulletin board about themselves
with pictures, souvenirs and toys.
We hope Staci Dunbar had a
great birthday on Sept. 12.
KINDERGARTEN NEWS
The 11 junior and 21 senior
kindergarten students in Mrs.
Wilson's and Mrs. Daer's classes
are having lots of fun using both
new and old equipment and toys in
their fabulous new kindergarten
room.
Miss Mathers and the Grade is
join both classes in the afternoons
to work at nine different learning
centres on the theme "All About
Me". Here they learn more about
themselves, their family, their
friends and their classmates.
Many of the students enjoyed
marching in the parade at the
school fair as well as winning lots
of prizes for their exhibits.
Everyone is looking forward to
the "Get Acquainted Barbecue",
Sept. 28 when they can show their
parents and friends the new
classroom and what they have
learned already.

OTHER EVENTS AND
INTERESTING FACTS
Many students at EWPS won
prizes for their work at the school
fair. One very special winner was
Gavin Van Camp who had the most
points for his work. Gavin
graduated last year from EWPS but
still put forth an effort in the school
fair!
This year many classes marched
in the parade hoping to win the
prize of a free pizza lunch. The
winner was Grade 6-7 which
accompanied their marching with a
high spirited chant.
In other events EWPS is holding
an open house which will take the
form of a Get Acquainted Barbe-
cue. The staff will be barbecuing
hot dogs and hamburgers. Pop,
doughnuts and coffee will also be
served.
It will be held on Thursday, Sept.
28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. We hope
all of you can be there!
A very special thank you goes
out to Murray and Joyce Vincent
for providing our school with their
tractor and wagon for the School
Fair parade. Your generosity was
certainly appreciated.
