Walton Public School news
Pupils train for run
Walton Public School was well
represented at the Brussels Parade
and Fair on Wednesday. Upon the
school float rested a large flock of
kindergarten and Grade 1 chicks
(they wore chicken beaks), while
following on foot was a whole crew
of hard working farmers (well they
were dressed the part anyway).
The students this past week have
also gone into training for the
upcoming cross-country run which
will be held Oct. 18. The Grade is
had a visitor this week. Andrea and

Howard and Audrey Hackwell
and Bill and Marie Coutts enjoyed
a Sunday drive down to West

sights at Swains Greenhouse.

money into a bottomless pit. Just
think of the hundreds of billions of

it. Part of the reason is because
poverty is as much as anything a

pecuniary one. People are
frequently poor because they
continue to practice poverty-
Nikki VanderVeen brought Bonsai
the dragonfly to school. The class
studied and observed the dragonfly
and wrote a story about the critter.
They took pictures of it and will be
making a book about dragonflies.
Laura Bowers brought in a

kindergarten classmates. The class
has also been busy learning all
about apples. They made apple
prints and paper apples and will be
working on this unit for a while
yet.

inducing actions. How to separate
the ones that do and the ones that
don't has defied government
thinking everywhere.
What will be the outcome of this
$1.9 billion cuts plus those still to
come? The New Zealanders, for
one, would probably tell Ontarians
that it depends on how hard the
voters try to make the new system
work and how hard they look for
feasible alternatives.
Reality may stink but it is the
only reality we have at the present
