Fatal hit and run accident
Sauble Beach - Canada Day weekend
The OPP have released this composite
sketch of a suspect wanted in connection
with the hit and run death of six-year-old
Trevor Chamberlain. The accident
occurred on Lakeshore Blvd. in Sauble
Beach on the Canada Day Weekend.
The suspect is described as a male in his
early 30s, clean shaven, with short brown
hair and of average height and build. The
vehicle police are seeking is a 1985 to
1994 Chevrolet Astro or GMC Safari van,
maroon or dark red in colour.
Anyone who thinks they may know the
suspect is asked to contact their nearest
OPP detachment or the Mount Forest
District Communication Centre at 1-800-265-2525.

Coulteses return from Korea
Bill and Muriel Coultes have
returned from two weeks in Korea
where they took part in the 1995
International Jubilee Convention.
They were part of a group of 18
International guests hosted by the
National Council of Church of
Korea for the celebrations. They
also visited with three United
Church Overseas Personnel and
saw the work they were doing in
Korea.
Brett Stryker, son of Evert and
Liz Stryker celebrated his fourth
birthday with 13 children attending,
as well as Grandma and Grandpa
Reinink. A campfire was enjoyed
by everyone as well as a homemade
bunny rabbit birthday cake.
The Stryker family also cele-
brated the occasion by going to
Niagara Falls and Marineland.
They enjoyed the Whale Show,
The Evening Unit of the UCW
met at the home of Loma Cook on
Sept. 5.
The meeting was opened with a
poem "School Day Reflections"
followed by the worship service.
HARVEY A. SHIM
A long-time resident of Blyth,
Harvey Sillib passed away on Sept.
2, 1995, at Wingham and District
Hospital. He would have soon
marked his 91st birthday.
Mr. Sillib was well known to the
people of Blyth, always with a
smile and with a little mischief in
his eyes.
Just prior to celebrating his 90th
birthday, Mr. Sillib christened the
Hwy. 4 bridge by being the first to
drive across the newly completed
structure.
Throughout his life, Mr. Sillib
had worked in many fields includ-
ing farming, constructing the eleva-
tors in Goderich, building
highways and working in a
sawmill.
He was also a member of Mason-
ic Lodge 303.
Born in Ashfield Twp. to the late
Alexander and Clara Sillib, he mar-
ried Nancy Ellen Jones (deceased)
in 1926.
He was the loved father of Mar-
jorie (Mrs. Lester Patterson) of
Kitchener and George Sillib and his
wife Ilene of Nile, RR6 Goderich
and the loving grandfather of four
and great-grandfather of six.
He was predeceased by one sis-
ter, Ida (Mrs. Orville Free).
Mr. Sillib is survived by one sis-
ter-in-law, Pearl Johnston of
Goderich, and a good friend, Ruth
Shiell of Blyth.

Mr.. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson of
Barrie visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Garner Nicholson and also with

Procter were Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Zettler, Sherry, Amanda and Alicia,
RR 4, Walkerton and a friend,
Tammy Allen of Walkerton.
Jack Higgins is a patient at
Wingham and District Hospital
after having hip surgery last month
at the University Hospital in
London. Friends, neighbours and
relatives wish him a speedy
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Bieman of
Laura Johnston read a poem and a
meditation on "Little Things Make
a Big Difference" and "Small
Insignificant Things Make a
Difference".

held a service on Sept. 4.
Rev. Ian Diamond of Blyth Unit-
ed Church officiated at the service
on Sept. 5, 1995, at Tasker Chapel
of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral
Homes in Blyth.
Interment was at Maitland Ceme-
tery, Goderich.
WILSON TIBBO
Wilson Tibbo of Ottawa, passed
away peacefully at his home on
Sunday, Aug. 13, 1995.
Born in Grand Bank, Newfound-
land on Nov. 30, 1912, Mr. Tibbo
was the son of the late George and
Jennie Tibbo.
He was the beloved husband of
Dorothy Tibbo (nee Armstrong),
the dear father of Margaret
Crawford and husband Grant of
Peterborough and Carl Tibbo and
wife Mary of Calgary and the
loving grandfather of Graham
Tibbo of Calgary. He was the dear
brother of Noel Tibbo and wife Pat
of Nanaimo, B.C. and Belle King
and husband Joe of Calgary, dear
brother-in-law of Jim Armstrong
and wife Leona of Brussels and
Helen Joyce and husband Bob of
Toronto. He was predeceased by
two brothers, Carl and Hubert
Tibbo.
Funeral service was held in the
Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair
and McGarry, 314 McLeod Street,
Ottawa, on Thursday, Aug. 17 with
Rev. Maggie Coleman officiating.
Bieman last Saturday.
Last Sunday George Inglis took
Agnes Bieman to the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Roger Bieman to help
celebrate Susan's birthday.
A 25th wedding anniversary
celebration honouring Harold and
Nancy Jardin was held in the
Belgrave Community Centre on
Friday, Sept. 8. Over 200 well
wishers attended the open house.
A mock wedding ceremony
added fun to the evening as well as
a performance by the "Carry On
Cloggers" which Harold and Nancy
also took part in.

Stand Among us and For the Fruit
of all Creations were sung.
The worship service closed with
prayer. During the business it was
moved and seconded that members
continue with lunch after church on
the third Sunday of the month.
Rev. Mary Jane Hobden
introduced the board game "The
Stewardship Game".
The meeting was closed with the
benediction. Lunch was served by
Ida Procter and Donna Shaw.
Fair on 15th
The Belgrave, Blyth, Brussels
School Fair will be held this year
on Friday, Sept. 15.
The pipe band will lead the
parade of children and dignitaries
down the hill from the Institute
Hall to the fairgrounds. A number
of dignitaries will speak and then,
as in other years, the pupils will
rush onto the arena floor to see
what prizes they may have won.
There will be the usual sporting
events and livestock judging.
A special addition this year is a
beef barbecue put on by the
Belgrave Kinsmen and later a
family dance.
Service set
Anniversary services will be held
at Belgrave, Knox Presbyterian
Church on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 7:30
p.m. with the new minister Rev.
Catherine Campbell. A social time
and refreshments will follow at the
Women's Institute Hall. Everyone
is welcome.
Knox United Church
Anniversary is Sunday, Sept. 17 at
11:15 with Rev. John Roberts as
the guest preacher. Lunch will
follow the service. Everyone
welcome.
The first regular meeting for the
fall season of the Belgrave Com-
munity Club was held on Sept. 8 in
the Community Centre with
President Jack Taylor presiding and
24 members present.
The meeting opened with the
singing of 0 Canada accompanied
by Freda Johnston at the piano.
The nominating committee report
was presented by Lois Chamney as
follows: past pres., Jack Taylor;
pres., Bob Grasby; secretary, Ross
Anderson; assistant sec., George
Michie; treasurer, Mary Taylor;
assistant treasurer, Gord Bosman;
social committee, Lillian Appleby,
Louise Bosman, Jean Pattison, Ada

The minutes of the previous
meeting were read by the secretary
and adopted. The treasurer's report
was read and adopted. Correspon-
dence was read from various
organizations.
It was decided that a delegation
- attend the U.S.C.O. fall rally in
Exeter Oct. 5.
Omission
The first name of the RR4, Wal-
ton man in the story headed "Judge
fines McKillop man $3,000" was
inadvertently omitted. It should
have read Carl McCallum.
We apologize for the error and
any confusion it may have caused.

approved, $1,000 to the Belgrave
Kinsmen Club to assist with the
paving of the arena parking lot,
$100 to the Belgrave, Blyth,
Brussels School Fair, $25 to the
Wingham and Area Seniors Day
Centre.
The meeting adjourned to meet
again Friday, Oct. 6.
Relatives and friends came from
as far away as Thessalon, London,
Glencoe, Hepworth and
surrounding areas. Congratulations
Harold and Nancy on this special
Kincardine visited with Agnes occasion.
UCW talks of small differences
