Memories of the 34th Thresher Reunion
Rolling good time
Steven Dougherty, a Grade 4 student at Hullett Central
Public School, mastered the art of rolling an inner tube
around the bucket during the school children's games
Friday morning as part of the Thresher Reunion and
Hobby Show. Hullett and Blyth Public School children
took part.
Clock's ticking
While an official keeps time, Wayne Lowe of Brussels tries his hand at bag-tieing, one of the
special adult events that let contestants test their mettle in a variety of not so modern
practices, such as belt setting and log sawing.
Dig in
For the young visitors to the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth this past weekend it's
a chance to experience the way things were done in their father and grandfathers time.
Here some of the more experienced get a helping hand from some younger workers.
oot stomptn
The K-W Linedancers were
the feature act Friday
afternoon at the Thresher
Reunion in Blyth as they put
on a linedancing demo to
songs which were decidedly
not just country.
At the mike
Ira Dickie of Lucknow takes
his turn during the fiddle
contest at the Pioneer
Thresher Reunion.
Old power
Nowhere can one learn more about-farming techniques of the past than at the Huron
Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth, held this past weekend. The art of belt-setting, once a
regular practise during threshing, puts today's farmers to the test.
Standing by
Taking time to visit is as much a part of the Thresher
Reunion as the actual exhibits and festivities planned
throughout the three-day long event.
