The team only lost twice in the regular season - once to Blyth and also to Goderich Twp. II. At the year end tournament held in Seaforth the team was undefeated, winning the A Championship title. The first game was against Goderich which ended in a 16-0 score. They also defeated Goderich Twp. II with a score of 12-5. In the final game against Seaforth the team was victorious with a 17-7 score. The team was also entered as a WOAA Homebrew team in the The Brussels PeeWee soccer team met Drayton last Monday in the first playoff game. Robert Terpstra scored for Brussels. Drayton came back to tie the game. Throughout there were several chances for both teams. Drayton scored with two minutes left into the game. Brussels came back strong but just couldn't put the ball in the net. The final score was Drayton 2, Brussels 1. Phil Graber played a strong game in net. Saturday at 8:30 a.m., Brussels met Listowel on the Wallace soccer field. Brussels wasn't used to playing at this time of day, but they woke up to finally make good passes and some very sound defensive plays. Robert Terpstra scored three times and Gerald Bowles scored one for Brussels. Listowel came back with two unanswered goals but Brussels tightened up its defense to finish the game with a 4- 2 victory. This put Brussels into the finals for the "B" championship against Wallace at 1:30 p.m. Brussels just couldn't seem to get it together, and Wallace simply overpowered and outplayed them, resulting in 6-0 final. Wallace won the "B" championship. The team was presented with the league trophy and medals. Congratulations to the Brussels PeeWees on a good summer filled with wins, losses and lots of fun and laughter. Case Van Den Heuvel, Richard and David Armstrong were an excellent support, helping out with the team. playoffs. They played a series against Shakespeare. At the first game in Auburn the home boys lost 14-7 but at the away game they were the winners of a 6-3 game. This meant that a rubber match took place in Tavistock for the final game. The teams, were evenly matched with the score being tied after seven innings. In the nest inning no runs were scored for either team. To shorten the game the umpire put a runner on second to start the inning for each team. The coach was Rich Archambault with assistants John Haak, Ray Hanna and Karen and Dave Armstrong. At the season end party held at Glauser, Mike Cooper, Matthew Cameron, Robert Terpstra, Christa Smith, Michael Allurs, Philip Grabers and Meggie Hallman, coaches Maxine Houston and Chris Armstrong. the Archambault's the team presented the coach and assistants gifts from the team.
