Undefeated Hullett Squirt Boys earn championship
The Hullett Squirt Boys had a
very good year this year. The team
only lost twice in the regular season
- once to Blyth and also to
Goderich Twp. II.
At the year end tournament held
in Seaforth the team was
undefeated, winning the A
Championship title.
The first game was against
Goderich which ended in a 16-0
score. They also defeated Goderich
Twp. II with a score of 12-5. In the
final game against Seaforth the
team was victorious with a 17-7
score.
The team was also entered as a

The Brussels PeeWee soccer
team met Drayton last Monday in
the first playoff game.
Robert Terpstra scored for
Brussels. Drayton came back to tie
the game.
Throughout there were several
chances for both teams. Drayton
scored with two minutes left into
the game. Brussels came back
strong but just couldn't put the ball
in the net. The final score was
Drayton 2, Brussels 1. Phil Graber
played a strong game in net.
Saturday at 8:30 a.m., Brussels
met Listowel on the Wallace soccer
field. Brussels wasn't used to
playing at this time of day, but they
woke up to finally make good
passes and some very sound
defensive plays.
Robert Terpstra scored three
times and Gerald Bowles scored
one for Brussels. Listowel came
back with two unanswered goals
but Brussels tightened up its
defense to finish the game with a 4-
2 victory.
This put Brussels into the finals
for the "B" championship against
Wallace at 1:30 p.m. Brussels just
couldn't seem to get it together, and
Wallace simply overpowered and
outplayed them, resulting in 6-0
final. Wallace won the "B"
championship. The team was
presented with the league trophy
and medals.

playoffs. They played a series
against Shakespeare.
At the first game in Auburn the
home boys lost 14-7 but at the
away game they were the winners
of a 6-3 game.
This meant that a rubber match
took place in Tavistock for the final
game. The teams, were evenly
matched with the score being tied
after seven innings. In the nest
inning no runs were scored for
either team. To shorten the game
the umpire put a runner on second
to start the inning for each team.
Hullett could only get their runner
to third base and in the bottom of
the inning Shakespeare scored the
