Recent visitors with Ethel and Daryl Ball were Mrs. Mary Tolley, Mrs. Gertrude Stanfield, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson from Denville, Virginia. Summer visitors with Ruth and Tom Jardin were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bennett of Amersburg, Mr. Bill Harold and Edith Vincent and Freda Johnston were invited to a get together for friends and relatives of Murray and June McDowell last Tuesday at Burgessville. Others attended from Blyth, Brucefield and Toronto. Don and Carol Vincent of St. Lazare, Quebec were visitors at the home of Harold and Edith Vincent and George and Greta Webster, Wingham. They enjoyed a family get-together before moving back home to Petitcodiac, NB. Just a reminder for anybody interested in playing hockey this On Sunday, Aug. 13, the Belgrave-Brussels 4-H Beef Club held a Demonstration Day at the home of Barb and Corey Rintoul. Bennett and Bill Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, Mrs. Vivian Pentland of North Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Jardin of Port Alberni, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Craig and family of St. Jacob's spent the weekend at their trailer home, RR 3, Auburn. season, registration is Sept. 7 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Belgrave Community Centre. Bill and Muriel Coultes have returned from two weeks in Korea where they took part in the 1995 International Jubilee Convention. They were part of a group of 18 International guests hosted by the National Council of Church of Korea for the celebrations. They also visited with three United Church Overseas Personnel and saw the work they were doing in Korea. Paul Ross conducted the service at Knox United Church and Bernice Gross was organist. The opening chorus Come Christians Join To Sing was sung followed by words of welcome. Hymn Praise To The Lord was sung. Rev. Ross gave the prayers and talked to the children, which was followed by the singing of the Children's Chorus. The New Creed was repeated in The sympathy of the community is extended to Jack and Helen Lee and Gordon and Madeline Radford on the passing of Helen's brother, the late Nelson Radford of London. Church service resumed this past unison and the Choral Response was sung. Hymn New Every Morning was sung. Rev. Ross's message was "Why I Believe in God". Prayers of Thanks and Concern were given and The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. The offering was received by Bill Seers and Ell Lapp and dedicated in song. Guide Me, 0 Thou Great Jehovah was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the Benediction. Sunday after three weeks' holidays. Greeters were Len and Betty Archambault. Ushers were Ken Hunking and Fred Peel.
