Missionaries
hear
special
music
Everyone who was in attendance
at Auburn Missionary Church on
Sunday, Aug. 27 enjoyed hearing
the King's Messengers. They sang
Try a Little Kindness, Just a Little
Talk, and Even So, Lord Jesus,
Come.
Pastor Carne's message,
"Laughing all the way to the bank",
had scripture from Matthew 6:19-
21. Verse 21 could read "Where
your heart is, there is your
treasure". The people who win
lotteries laugh all the way to the
bank but the bank of heaven is the
greatest bank of all, he said.
Some think they have an account
in the bank of heaven, but they
really haven't, he said. People who
tithe testify where their heart is.
"We must make regular deposits
in the bank of heaven. Did we tithe
our time for the Lord? Have we
helped others in some tangible way,
maybe in counselling or a ministry
of love? When we do, we make a
spiritual investment."
"This account pays dividends and
compounds interest because we
will see many coming to know the
Lord as their personal Saviour.
When we come to the end of our
life and we draw our last breath,
money and property in this life
passes away, but what we have
given to the Lord will last forever."
The congregation's blessings are
wished on the young people as they
start college — Jeffrey Bowman to
Radio College of Canada in
Toronto; Rob Campbell to
Agricultural College at Kemptville;
and Dale Nott to Emmanuel Bible
College in Kitchener. Kim Baan is
returning to Conestoga College for
her second year in Early Childhood
Education and Susan Dobie is back
to Emmanuel Bible College for her
third year.
