Melody White of Brussels, a 4-H leader and director of the Huron County 4-H, as well as Steven Stewart, RR1, Clinton and Da I %74g„g Postma of Londesboro are involved in the Connections Canada Exchange. They, as well as eight other 4-H youths from Huron Exchanging visits 4-H members from Newfoundland are presently here on exchange, hosted by Huron members. The group met in Brussels last week to embark on a tour of Spinrite in Listowel. Newfoundland 4-Hers visit Huron County Crime of the Week THEFT FROM VEHICLE On May 28 some baseball equipment was taken from a vehicle while it was sitting at a residence on Huron Street in Exeter. The property stolen included two baseball gloves and two bats. The items taken were Trapper and Easton. THEFT OF MOTORS Between June 3-9 two outboard motors and a dinghy were stolen from the marina in Bayfield. The stolen property included a 3 horsepower Sears fish finder and a Johnson 15 horsepower motor. Also stolen was a 10 foot "BOMBARD" dinghy grey in colour with a red stripe. County are providing homes and acting as tour guides for the 10 young counterparts and one chaper- • one here from Summerville, New- foundland. The exchange is organized by Canadian 4-H Council. Air fare and ground transportation to and from the airport are paid for by Open House Canada, Youth Exchange Program for the Department of Canadian Heritage. The east coast visitors arrived to the area on July 26. While here they will be introduced to a differ- ent Canadian culture and experi- ence a different way of life. Staying with White, is chaperone Betty Quinton, a 4-H club-co-ordi- nator with Trinity Bonavista South District 4-H. Though her club has been involved in an exchange twice before, this is her first and last as participants can only go on one exchange. Though the itinerary includes several home days, when the host youths can take their guests to local sights, the group will also see some of the bigger tourist attractions in Ontario, such as SkyDome, CN Tower, Niagara Falls and Wonder- land. They also attended the 80th anniversary celebrations for 4-H at the Agricultural Museum in Milton. "It's hoped that the tour is educa- tional as well as entertaining," says White. On Aug. 10 it will be turnabout as the Huron County youths fly to Newfoundland.
