District Kinsmen purchase hamlet's old hotel See page 15 County continues landfill site search Despite pleas from Ashfield Township residents and indications the rules of the game in waste man- agement may be changing with the new Progressive Conservative Government in Queen's Park, Huron County councillors appear adamant in continuing the current search for a county-wide landfill site. Council voted to continue the investigation of site A3, the only one of 11 original sites still remain- ing in the current round of the search for a site for the county's garbage. The site is located in Ash- field Twp. southwest of Lucknow. Council also authorized paying $28,975 to the consultants on the project for work involving identify- ing soil types on the candidate sites. At least one-councillor, Blyth's Reeve Mason Bailey, objected to council making more of a commit- ment to the current search. Bailey continued his campaign to have council look at options other than landfill.
