Grey Central- School
Valedictorians share memories of Grey years
By Bronwyn Dunbar
and Becky Rapson
One behalf of the Grade 8
students of 1995 we would like to
share our feelings, thoughts, and
memories of our most memorable
years here at Grey.
Things about our personalities
have changed quite drastically,
though we are the same fun loving
kids we ever were, we have grown
as a group, and as friends.
Through these past nine years our
teachers have expanded our
knowledge and opened our eyes to
new horizons, where we now stand
at this point, proudly stating that
we had teachers who cared enough
to guide us to greatness.
Without these fine people, some
of us wouldn't know our left from
right, or our right from wrong. We
would not understand math,
spelling, or how to read or write.
We would not know the value of
friendship nor respect, and so in
return for their efforts, and
accomplishments, we thank them.
It has been an honour to have been
taught by the staff from Grey.
There are many things that we
have been fortunate enough to take
part in here at Grey. Sometimes we
take for granted the value of our
surroundings, the lush green grass,
the populated forests, and the free
flowing-steam. As we pause to
admire the trees we've planted and
watch them grow, we fail to realize,
that we too, have grown along with
them.
We have had the opportunity to
take part in many interscholastic
sporting events, as well as host
them. We had the chance to meet
different people and experience
different school atmospheres.
Each of us has our own personal
memories, that will never escape
our minds. Some of teachers, some
of friends, and some of Grey
Central in general.
By coming to Grey, we have had
the opportunity to meet the people
which we now call friends. People
who will remain in our hearts
forever. People like Ryan, who will
remain in everyone's heart, because
they always made you laugh.
People like Sam, who are always
nice and pleasant to be around, and
people like Sarah, who are always
dependable. You know who these
we had to overcome as a group.
Though most of the time we were
in separate classrooms, we
maintained friendships, and stuck
through everything together. We
went through a lot of good times,
and bad times, times we will never
forget, but we went through them
as friends, and that's what really
counts.
When we looked back, we
weren't sure whether we were ready
for graduation or not/. Some of us
can't wait to move on, while others
dread the thought of leaving their
close friends and familiar school
and schedule behind. Others have
mixed emotions. Everything that
we have received we have shared
with our friends that we made
here.
We would also like to take the
opportunity to thank our parents for
the input they have had on our
lives. In our preschool years, and
throughout our life times, our
parents are also our teacher.
Therefore we should be willing and
happy to give our parents the
honour and respect which is due to
them. Sometimes it doesn't seem
this way, but we want to encourage
our parents to continue to guide our
choices with their wisdom and
experiences.
The personalities and the
characteristics that we have
acquired over the past nine years

look any further than your friends.
