The Belgrave PeeWee Boys runner beats the tag from the Brussels catcher in this close
play at the plate. The two teams met in Brussels last week and despite a solid start for the
home boys some defensive blooper's by them, and solid pitching by Belgrave's Rob McGee
helped the visitors to a win.
Brussels PeeWees lose 2, win 1
The Brussels Tigers passed the
halfway point of their league
schedule and hold a 9 win - 2 loss
record in Huron County Fastball
Action.
"Father Knows Best" was the
story of the Tigers - Bulldogs game
Wednesday night. Tied at one,
Shawn Conley came out of the
bullpen to make his Bulldog debut

leadoff triple by his father. Doug
Shaw followed with an RBI bunt
single and the Tigers went on to a
rain shortened 2-1 victory.
The dogs opened the scoring in
the first as Greg Mulvey tripled,
then came home on John Miners'
sacrifice fly. The Tigers quickly
replied in their first at bat with
Steve Fritz leading off with a home

with a hard shot at 20 yards. Mike
Courtney drew the assist. Number

Jeff Cowan to Mike Ansley, who
headed it between the pipes.
Courtney again set up Boven for
his second of the game to make it
3-0, then Johnathan Kochis ended
the scoring for the first half with
the assist going to Cowan.
In the second half Blyth played
stronger than ever coming up with
eight goals. Dan Egli, Boven and

two.
The Tigers opened the second
half of their schedule with an 8-1
win over Blyth Decor. Trailing 1-0,
a missed pickoff attempt allowed
Murray Pipe to score from second

An inning later Brett Clarkson's
two run homerun gave the Tigers
the lead. They then sealed the win
with five runs in their last at bat.
Todd Uhrig and Clarkson each
enjoyed a three for three game with
Brett adding four RBI's.
Conley pitched a four hitter for
the win with Uhrig throwing an
inning of relief while Warren
Moore gave up six hits over five
innings before giving way to Bruce
