Love Divine All Loves Excelling was read in unison. Mrs. Alice Nicholson opened with a poem, "The Dawn". Mrs. Freda Scott read scripture from St. Luke 21. Meditation was entitled "Faith Journey" and given by Mrs. Ivy Cloakey. Mrs. Ora Bruce led in Ontario Mennonite Music Camp, a unique camping experience for adventurous youth, runs from Aug. 13 to Aug. 25 at Conrad Grebel College, Waterloo. Music Camp, sponsored by Conrad Grebel College, is in its 12th season of providing a two- week live-in experience for musically-motivated young people age 12 to 15 who wish to learn more about the musical heritage of the Christian church. This year's theme is "Keep Your Boat Afloat: Faith, Promise and Praise." The camp offers many music- related activities - choir, band, string orchestra, musical coaching, drama, small ensemble groups, prayer. The WMS Oath was repeated. An invitation was read to Wingham on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. The fall rally will be held Sept. 11 in the Ashfield Church at 8 p.m. Mrs. Margaret Siertsema gave the secretary's report and Mrs. Cloakey, the financial report. Roll call was answered by one's opinion on whether the name of the Glad special workshops, sessions with guest artists, field trips, campfires, skits, daily camper-planned chapels and a final concert for family and friends. This year's concert feature is A Technicolour Promise, a modern telling of the story of Noah. Cheryl Sumsion from Waterloo, a teacher with the Oxford County Board of Education since 1992, is the newly-appointed Director of Ontario Mennonite Music Camp. Cheryl was Choral Director at Music Camp last summer. She has an Honours BA with a major in Music and a minor in Studies in Personality and Religion from the University of Waterloo (1990). She has a BEd in Vocal Music from the University of Western Ontario Tidings should be changed. It was felt it was best left as is. One guest was present and 37 sick and shut-in calls recorded. During July, she is teaching English as a Second Language at Student Camps International in Toronto. She is a soprano soloist and performs with both amateur and professional choirs, and with musical theatre groups. Justin Campbell, son of John and Linda Campbell celebrated his 12th birthday at their cottage in Grand Bend on Thursday, June 29. Tyler Fenton, Craig Marks, Travis Campbell, Jim Wray, Chad Cook, Matt Campbell and Justin's brother Jeremy were guests for the sleepover and party. The youths enjoyed ping pong and basketball as well as swimming at the beach. Sjaan Gerth won the Bantam Boys triathlon with 1,759 points. He ran the 80 metre hurdles in 13.6 seconds had a throw of 7.71 metres in the shotput and had a mark of 1.48 metres in the high jump. Sjaan was one of the athletes from the Wingham Optimist Track and Field Club who competed in the Ontario combined events championship held June 17. Kindergarten ends with smiles The senior kindergarten class of East Wawanosh Public School were all smiles as they gathered on the last days for a few more turns on the climbing bars.
