It was Trinity Sunday at Blyth

Donna Moore, assisted by Janice
Peters and Joan Caldwell presented
awards for perfect attendance in the
various classes.
Sunday, June 11 was a special
day at Brussels Mennonite Fellow-
ship. Phailop Larprom was
baptized, and welcomed into
church membership. Christine
Knorr had been baptized in 1992,
but was also welcomed into the
church by membership at the
Sunday service. Both young people
have been active in the church and
have been blessings to the congre-
gation for some time. During the
service the two sang a duet, I Have
Virginia Stright, Lorraine Came
and Pastor Came sang a lovely trio
number Glorious Freedom at
Auburn Missionary Church on
Sunday, June 11.
Pastor Bob Lewis and Steve
Campbell put on a short drama,
"Getting Ready for the Race." The
congregation learned there are
many things that can hinder people
in the race in life to keep them
away from God.
Pastor Carne's message was
Rev. Huntley's message to the
children and the congregation was
explaining, "Trinity". He said,
"Trinity is in three parts. The first
part is 'God the Father, the second
is 'Jesus the Man' and the third is
'The Holy Spirit'."
It is something like a marriage,
he said. "In a marriage you have a
relationship, a contract and a
commitment. If one is missing, we
are lost."
Bev Snell, chair of session,
announced the new Sunday School
Decided to Follow Jesus.
Elwin Garland was worship
leader for the service and Thelma
Steinman and Kathy Procter were
song leader and pianist.
Pastor Tom Warner gave the
message based on 1 Peter 3: 8-22.
People are connected in the Chris-
tian community because of the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are
raised with Christ once we choose
to no longer be Lord of our own
lives, but to accept Jesus as our
own personal Lord. We need each
"Symbols of Pentecost" with
scripture read from Acts 2: 1-8 and
Luke 3: 15-17.
In St. Luke 3, it tells of John
baptizing which signifies cleansing,
but there is the greater baptism of
the Holy Spirit, he said. There must
be repentance which is a change of
mind as you go the opposite way.
Fire symbolizes cleansing but a
deeper cleansing, a cleansing of
attitudes. A person who has no
heart cleansing will go back to sin
main. We say to ourselves "I will
format. Beginning in September,
Sunday School will be held the
same time as church service, with
the children attending service for
15 - 20 minutes before going down
to classes.
This will be on a one-year trial.
The change comes after the results
of a survey taken during the past
several weeks.

other, and therefore need to join the
Church, the Body of Christ, made
up of confessed sinners.
We are then expected to learn our
gifts and how to serve the Lord in
the Church, using our gifts. We've
been made to serve, not sit. Our
first connection is with God, our
second connection is with each
other.
Service doesn't lead to salvation,
but salvation causes us to serve-
each other, Pastor Warner said.
do what I want to do" so there is no
renunciation of self.
God wants to put an end to
rebelliousness, Pastor Came said.
"If you are stuck on yourself you
will always be miserable."
Another symbol of Pentecost is
fluency. God enabled the church to
do the work He wanted.
The language of Pentecost is
'Love is spoken here'. We are
cleansed of self-love and we have a
love that ministers.
Hymn Glory Be to God the.
Father and How Great Thou Art
was sung.
Rev. Huntley congratulated
everyone for the awards and
reminded everyone about the picnic
at Lions Park.

Prayers are with them.
