E. Wawanosh PS news
Pupils create books
During the past few weeks the
students in Grades 1-7 at East
Wawanosh Public School extended
their writing process by writing,
editing, publishing and illustrating
their own books.
On Wednesday, June 7 these
talented authors and illustrators had
the opportunity to share their books
at Young Authors' Day. The
morning sessions were a sharing
time.
Kim Souch from Seaforth, a
vocal performer, and song writer
was the guest for the afternoon
sessions.
Parents and visitors were invited
to visit at anytime during the
Author's Day to hear the interesting
stories, observe the musical
presentation and browse through
published books. Everyone was
welcome to attend and share in the
enthusiasm and pride of those
talented students.
On Tuesday, June 6 the Grades 2
and 3 went on a field trip to the
African Lion Safari while the
Grade 8s went to Toronto on
Wednesday, June 7.
On Thursday, June 8 Grade 4/5,
5, and 5/6, attended the Family
Literacy Festival in Clinton.
During the first session the
students had the opportunity to
meet an author. In the second
session they either listened to a
story teller or participated in a
creative workshop.
