barbecue. He rubbed a dye on his
hands and, taking a dish he
pretended chicken was in it, he
touched it as he proceeded to
barbecue and set the table. When
he was done, he turned off the
lights and put on the ultraviolet
light. One could detect every place
and item he had touched with his
hands.
He then gave a clipboard to
Marguerite and she signed it while
he washed his hands. Again the
lights were turned out and the
ultraviolet light was used to show
how residue was left on his hands
and then the cross-contamination to
the clipboard and Marguerite's
hands.
Bob answered many interesting
questions during the course of his
presentation. He again pointed out
the method of prevention of growth
of bacteria, which can actually kill
people, is to use temperature con-
trol, eliminate cross-contamination
and wash your hands.
Handouts of barbecue safety and
food safety were distributed.
Bob was thanked and presented
with a gift.
Those attending completed the
evaluation forms and the meeting
was then adjourned.
Any diabetics or interested
persons are invited to contact Nelva
Scott at 887-6691 for further
information.
