Hayden steers reach $102, average $87.09 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending May 19 were: fed cattle, 926; cows, 281; veal, 185; sheep and goats, 148; stockers, 1,274; and pigs, 97. The market at Brussels Livestock saw top quality steers and heifers selling under pressure at prices $2 lower, with the second cut selling $3 lower. Cows sold $1 to $2 higher. On Thursday veal sold steady. Lambs sold fully steady to last week. On Friday the grass cattle sold actively. There were 573 steers on offer selling from $86 to $90 to the high of $102. Forty steers consigned by Bill Hayden, Goderich, averaging 1,461 lbs. sold for an average of $87.09 with sales to $102. Twenty- one steers consigned by Cunning- ham Farms, Lucan, averaging 1,431 lbs. sold for an average of Ontario farmers can apply for wage assistance to employ young people on farms this summer. Applications for the 1995 Summer Experience Wage Assistance Program (SEWAP) are $86.64 with sales to $97.50.
