with Call to Worship, Prayer of
Approach and Words of Welcome.

(in the congregation) who is home
from spending seven months as a
physical therapist in the North
Island, New Zealand.
Herb Shannon read the Old
Testament lesson from Joshua,
chapter 24, verses 14-17. The
gospel lesson was from Luke,
chapter 2, verses 41-52.
For the children's time Rev.
Huntley talked about how special
mothers are. One of the ways to
acknowledge her is to love her, he
said. God enables us with His gift
of love.
He had them sing the new
clapping version of Jesus Loves Me
with the congregation joining in.
Rev. Huntley announced the birth
of his and Kate's baby daughter,
Georgia Catherine, born last
Tuesday, May 9 weighing 8 lbs., 10
oz. The announcement was
appropriate for his Mother's Day
sermon.
He said, "Family units change."
He reflected upon changes in
family — a new baby, marriage and
the difficulty of a death in the
family.
"It is our challenge as christians
as how we recreate family
throughout our lives. God is
constantly a part of the change and
we are all a large family of God.
Family is so very important, and a
very significant part of our lives."
The choir, under the direction of
Phyllis Boak, rendered the anthem
Getting Used to the Family of God,
following with the closing hymn,
Happy the Home when God is
there.
