so much to improve their community.
Now you have a chance to say thanks.
Nominate that special person for the 9th
Annual Citizen Citizenship Awards.
Each year a committee chooses an outstanding citizen from
each of the Blyth and Brussels communities to receive an
award for contribution to the community. If you know
someone you think should be honoured, please fill in the
ballot and send it in. You may attach a longer explanation
of why you think your nominee should win, if you like. If
you have nominated someone before and he or she didn't
win, please feel free to try again.

Councillor Rob Lawrie told
about a meeting with the public
school principal, Al Harrison
regarding the sidewalk along Mill
St. and King St.
The sidewalk on Mill will be put
in for wheelchair accessibility.
Councillor Lawrie explained that
the proposal is for the village to
tear up the existing sidewalk on
King St. at their own cost, then
split 50/50 with the school the cost
of the sidewalks.
The money for this would be
taken from the road budget.
A motion was made approving
the project to a total cost of
$2,118.60 for the village share.
