Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending March 17 were: fed cattle, 933; cows, 354; veal calves, 200; sheep and goats, 124; stockers, 1,087; and pigs, light run. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers and heifers selling $2 lower. Cows sold steady to $1 higher. Bulls sold fully steady. On Thursday the top veal sold steady, with the lower grade selling $2 - $3 lower. Lambs sold steady. On Friday the stockers calves sold steady with the yearlings selling under pressure. There were 534 steers on offer selling from $94 to $99 to the high of $110.50. Four steers consigned by Jerry Cronin, Dublin, averaging 1,272 lbs. sold for an average of $100.81 with sales to $110.50. Thirty-three steers consigned by Bill Hayden, Goderich, averaging 1,502 lbs. sold for an average of $96.26 with sales to $110.25. Twenty-two steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londesborough, averaging, 1,372 lbs. sold for an average of $102.26 with sales to $108.50. Crime of theWeek BREAK AND ENTER HULLETT TWP. Sometime between•Dec. 25-31, somebody entered a garage attach- ed to a residence on Concession 14 and removed a chainsaw and a quantity of tools. The chainsaw was a Poulan model 335, serial number 652590470. Parish hosts speaker, J. Bennett Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, March 19 were Nick and Joan Whyte. Ushers were Dave Ste-wart and Dave Bollinger. The guest speaker was Mrs. Jean Bennett, who spoke on the Cana- dian Food Grains Bank. Tuesday afternoon, March 28 is bible study at 1:30 p.m. Confirmation class will meet from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 22 and March 23. A day for children will be held at Exeter United Church, Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Cost is $7 each. Sunday School crokinolc party will be at the church at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23. Choir practice is next Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Mrs. Russell Good, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Longman and John and Helen Lyons as well as other area rela- tives attended the visiting hours and funeral of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Yungblut on Wednesday, March 15 in Woodstock. Cheerio club gathers for lunch The March meeting of the Cheerio Club was held on Wednes- day, March 15. It began with lunch at the Hillcrest Restaurant then members proceeded to the home of June Fothergill. June welcomed everyone and gave a reading on Superstitions. The minutes of the January meeting were read. Roll call was answered by eight members. Draw money and collection were taken up. The draw, donated by Ora Bruce, was won by Beth Knox. Cards were played. Edythe Beacom gave the treasurer's report. The Londesboro UCW are plann- ing a day together for Tuesday, March 28 beginning at 10 a.m. All ladies of the congregation are welcome. There were nine tables' of euchre. Winners were: high lady, Beatrice Welch; ladies' lone hands, June Fothergill; ladies' low, Nellie Brock; men's high, Eric Anderson; men's lone hands, Ted Fothergill; men's low, Vietta Hoggart. The last euchre of the season will be held At. the Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 31. Lunch will be provided. Farm Brussels Livestock report 534 steers average $94 to $99, top $110.50 It's a slice of Huron beef George Adams was kept busy Saturday night slicing the delicious roast beef cooked up for the Huron County Beef Producers banquet at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre.
